【摘要】：本文主要依據(jù)僑鄉(xiāng)新近發(fā)現(xiàn)的各種文獻(xiàn)、文物,從僑鄉(xiāng)的角度,考察淘金華工、鐵路華工去美國追逐夢想的動因和移民機(jī)制,初步分析了華工出洋的成本與收益,詳細(xì)討論了他們夢想的內(nèi)涵,他們帶給家庭、家族、家鄉(xiāng)的各種層面的變化,他們?yōu)閷?shí)現(xiàn)夢想所付出的血汗乃至生命。美國淘金華工、鐵路華工生活在現(xiàn)實(shí)環(huán)境和精神家園兩個世界之中,他們不僅是美國西部開發(fā)和美國工業(yè)化進(jìn)程的直接參與者、推動者、見證者和貢獻(xiàn)者,也是僑鄉(xiāng)社會轉(zhuǎn)型進(jìn)步這一"僑鄉(xiāng)夢"的參與者、推動者、見證者和貢獻(xiàn)者。
[Abstract]:Based on various documents and cultural relics recently discovered in overseas Chinese villages, this paper examines the motivation and migration mechanism of gold miners and railway Chinese workers to pursue their dreams in the United States from the perspective of overseas Chinese townships, and analyzes the costs and benefits of Chinese workers leaving the country. The connotation of their dream was discussed in detail, the changes they brought to their families, families and hometown, the blood, sweat and even life they paid to realize their dreams. Chinese railway workers live in two worlds, the real environment and the spiritual homeland. They are not only the direct participants, promoters, witnesses and contributors to the western development of the United States and the process of American industrialization. They are also the participants, promoters, witnesses and contributors of the "dream of overseas Chinese".
