Abstract:Asoneoftheimportantresearchcontentsofhumansettlements,ruralsettlementsincludesacertainamountofpopulationwhichiscloselyassociatedwithagriculturalproduction.Ruralsettlementshaveapro-cessofproduction,development,maturity,decline,rebirthandothercomplexdynamicfeaturesandspatialcharacteristics.Generationinruralsettlementsisadynamicprocesswhichisinfluencedbyvariousfactors,suchasthedevelopmentofahistorical,geographical,political,economic,cultural,ethnic,religious,scientif-ic,technological,policy,lifestyle,andphysicalawareness.Ruralsettlementsistheresultofinteractionbe-tweenruralresidentsandthesurroundingnature,economic,socialandculturalenvironment,whichincludespeople,society,architecture,naturalandsupportnetwork.Withthegovernmentissuingaseriesofpoliciesandmeasuressuchastheconstructionofnewcountryside,rurallandcirculation,urbanandruralharmonious,andnewruralcommunityconstruction,thestudyofruralsettlementsisdevelopedagainanddisplaysitsprac-ticalsignificanceandacademicvalue.Inthispaper,themainviewpointsonruralsettlements'location,mor-phology,scaleandlevel,function,evolutionmechanism,optimizingcontrol,typesanddistrictsaredescribedindetail,fromtheperspectiveofgeographyinrecenttenyears.Finally,theauthorspointouttheweaklinksofthebasictheoryandresearchcontents,theresearchmethodsandtechnicalandputforwardaresearchprospectoftheruralsettlements.Thispaperholdsthat,asanimportantsubjectofruralsettlementgeography,ruralsettlementsresearchshouldstandingeographicaldevelopmentalenvironment,andbaseonthenewhu-man-landrelationship,integratethetheoriesandmethodsofecology,economics,environmentalstudies,be-havioralscienceandsociology,andshouldsetupasymbiosisofhuman-land，co-ordinationofurbanandruraldevelopment,regionalcoordinationandharmonioussociety.Also,itshouldformharmoniesbetween"humanandnature","humandemandsandsettlementfunctions",and"urbanandruralsettlements"andfocusonset-tlementform,settlementstructure,settlementprocessandmechanism,aswellascomprehensivelystudyre-searchtheoriesandmethods,classificationanddevelopmentalprocessandmechanism.Keywords:ruralsettlements;rsearchsummary;Geography;domestic

提要：農(nóng)村聚居是農(nóng)村居民與周圍自然、經(jīng)濟(jì)、社會、文化環(huán)境相互作用的結(jié)果，是人類聚居學(xué)的重要研究內(nèi)容。隨著新農(nóng)村建設(shè)、農(nóng)村土地流轉(zhuǎn)、城鄉(xiāng)統(tǒng)籌、新型農(nóng)村社區(qū)建設(shè)等政策與措施的相繼出臺，農(nóng)村聚居研究日益凸顯出重要的實(shí)踐意義與學(xué)術(shù)價(jià)值。本文對近十年來國內(nèi)地理學(xué)關(guān)于農(nóng)村聚居區(qū)位、形態(tài)、規(guī)模與等級、功能組織、演變機(jī)理、優(yōu)化調(diào)控以及聚
