[Abstract]:The "Great Leap forward" movement was initiated under Mao Zedong's leadership, but he was also among the party's top officials who discovered the problems and made efforts to correct them earlier. From the winter of 1958, when he discovered the problems and shortcomings in the "Great Leap forward" movement, he went all the way to his later years. Mao Zedong has talked about the mistakes and lessons of the movement on no less than 50 occasions. In his speech at the second Zhengzhou Conference on February 27th 1959, Mao Zedong made self-criticism. At the end of the second Zhengzhou Conference in March 5th, Mao Zedong and some provincial party committees took responsibility for the mistakes in the communalization movement.
