【摘要】：傳統(tǒng)的"文化殖民史觀"認(rèn)為,西方傳教士的出版譯介活動是一種跨文化侵略行為。但客觀而言,晚清西方傳教士在中西文化交流,例如文學(xué)翻譯、科技書籍翻譯和其他形態(tài)的文化傳播方面做出的貢獻(xiàn)不可磨滅。美國傳教士在晚清的中西文化交流中擔(dān)當(dāng)了橋梁和媒介的作用,一定程度上促進(jìn)了中國近代科技、文化教育出版的快速發(fā)展。研究當(dāng)時美國傳教士的出版譯介活動,對今天的跨文化交流仍然具有重要的現(xiàn)實(shí)意義。
[Abstract]:The traditional view of cultural colonial history holds that the publication and translation of western missionaries is an act of cross-cultural aggression. But objectively speaking, the western missionaries in the late Qing Dynasty made indelible contributions to the cultural exchange between China and the West, such as literary translation, science and technology book translation and other forms of cultural communication. American missionaries played a role as a bridge and a medium in the cultural exchanges between China and the West in the late Qing Dynasty. To some extent, American missionaries promoted the rapid development of Chinese modern science and technology, culture and education publishing. The study of the publication and translation of American missionaries at that time is still of practical significance to today's cross-cultural communication.
