從辦學(xué)理念看美國出版教育特色

【摘要】:美國社會及文化研究學(xué)者張曉立在其《美國高等教育解析》一書中有言:“不斷適應(yīng)客觀世界的靈活的實(shí)用體制,以及服務(wù)于現(xiàn)實(shí)社會需要的使命感,是美國高等教育不斷成長的動力和源泉!泵绹詫(shí)用主義教育著稱,無論何種教育,皆以實(shí)踐教學(xué)為主,以實(shí)用為其最終目的。而出版教育就是美國實(shí)用主義教學(xué)的典型。 美國出版教育從課程設(shè)置,到教學(xué)和實(shí)習(xí),無一不與出版產(chǎn)業(yè)緊密結(jié)合。其出版專業(yè)教師都是來自出版業(yè)界的實(shí)踐工作者,課程也都由出版業(yè)界精英參與制定,而各出版相關(guān)高校,如紐約大學(xué)、佩斯大學(xué)、哥倫比亞大學(xué)和愛默森學(xué)院等都地處紐約、波士頓等出版與文化之都,對出版人才需求旺盛且能夠?yàn)槌霭嫒瞬诺呐囵B(yǎng)提供各種便利資源。 美國出版業(yè)在激烈的競爭中不斷整合與優(yōu)化,其出版教育也經(jīng)歷著同樣的變革與調(diào)整。哈佛大學(xué)拉德克里夫?qū)W院出版課程轉(zhuǎn)入哥倫比亞大學(xué),以及斯坦福大學(xué)出版課程轉(zhuǎn)入耶魯大學(xué)管理學(xué)院,都是美國出版教育優(yōu)化整合與充分利用出版教育資源的典范。各出版相關(guān)高校通過對出版教育資源的整合與利用,最大限度地挖掘自身內(nèi)部學(xué)科優(yōu)勢和地理優(yōu)勢,在形成差異化專業(yè)辦學(xué)特色的同時也為美國出版教育注入了強(qiáng)大的活力。 紐約大學(xué)出版中心憑借其所依托的學(xué)校職業(yè)進(jìn)修學(xué)院的辦學(xué)特點(diǎn)及其所處出版之都的地理優(yōu)勢,極力以培養(yǎng)新時代出版商為辦學(xué)目標(biāo);佩斯大學(xué)以全面的出版教育著稱,為新生傳授全面的出版專業(yè)知識和技能,同時為業(yè)界人士提供事業(yè)發(fā)展的動力和平臺;愛默森學(xué)院以培養(yǎng)具有人文精神的出版專業(yè)人才為其專業(yè)辦學(xué)宗旨;哥倫比亞大學(xué)以出版短期培訓(xùn)為主,課程高度濃縮、緊湊,以提供實(shí)踐培訓(xùn)和專業(yè)指導(dǎo)為主,集約化、高強(qiáng)度,為業(yè)界工作者和非業(yè)界人士提供專業(yè)的學(xué)習(xí)和發(fā)展機(jī)遇;耶魯大學(xué)招生對象以出版界中高層管理人員為主,以培養(yǎng)新時代出版業(yè)精英和管理人才為目標(biāo)。 總體而言,美國出版教育最突出、最本質(zhì)的特色,是其同業(yè)界實(shí)踐的緊密聯(lián)系。而此特色又具體體現(xiàn)在其課程、師資,以及這兩者的緊密結(jié)合之上。即任何一門課程的開設(shè)都有具備相關(guān)從業(yè)或?qū)嵺`經(jīng)驗(yàn)的業(yè)界精英進(jìn)行教授,從而使得每門課程都能很好地與實(shí)踐相融合,,而不僅僅是理論上的空談。 美國紐約大學(xué)、佩斯大學(xué)、愛默森學(xué)院和哥倫比亞大學(xué)的出版教育,在全美乃至全球都有著極高的聲譽(yù)和影響力,它們的出版教育模式和教育特色能夠很好地體現(xiàn)美國出版教育的整體概況。各高校在出版教育的辦學(xué)上各具特色,但都善于結(jié)合自身內(nèi)部學(xué)科優(yōu)勢和地域優(yōu)勢,善于吸收和統(tǒng)籌一切可用的優(yōu)勢資源來推動自身出版教育的發(fā)展。 本文主要分別就以上幾所高校的出版教育概況及其出版辦學(xué)理念進(jìn)行了論述和分析,并在此基礎(chǔ)上總結(jié)論述了美國出版教育的整體特色。最后結(jié)合美國出版教育特色,就我國出版教育未來的發(fā)展提出了一些合理化建議。

The publishing industry in the fierce competition in the continuous integration and optimization, the publishing education is also undergoing change and adjustment of the same. Radcliffe School of the Harvard University and the Stanford University published courses into the Columbia University, published the program into the school of management of Yale University, is published in the United States and education integration and optimization model of full use of educational resources. The publishing and publishing by universities the integration of publishing education resources, to maximize their own internal discipline and geographical advantages, the formation of differentiated professional characteristics as well as the American publishing education into a powerful vitality.
The running characteristics of New York University publishing center by relying on its school occupation education college and the publishing of the geographical advantages, vigorously develop new era to the publisher for the target of running a school; Pace University is famous for publishing the all-round education, to teach comprehensive publishing professional knowledge and skills, and provide career development for the industry power and platform; Emerson College for professional education aims to cultivate publishing talents with humanistic spirit; the Columbia University published short-term training, highly concentrated course, compact, in order to provide practical training and professional guidance, intensive, high strength, professional learning and development opportunities for the industry professionals and non professionals Yale University; recruit students object to senior management in the field of publishing, the publishing industry to develop new era elite and management personnel. Overall, the United States published the most prominent education, the most essential characteristics is its close relationship with industry practice. And this feature is reflected in the curriculum, teachers, and the two combined. Set up any course have related working experience or industry elite professor. York University, Pace University, education publishing Emerson College and the Columbia University, has a high reputation and influence in the country and the world, their publishing education mode and education characteristics can well reflect the overall situation of the United States. This paper respectively above several universities survey and publication publishing education educational philosophy are discussed and analyzed, and on this basis, summarizes the overall characteristics of American education publishing. Finally combined with the publishing characteristics of education, put forward some reasonable suggestions on the future development of China's education publishing.
