光譜帶寬對單偏振光纖消光比的影響

【摘要】:消光比是表征單偏振光纖偏振性能好壞的特征參數(shù)之一,影響它的因素有很多,如光譜帶寬。結(jié)合熊貓型單偏振光纖的測量,搭建了雙軸光譜帶寬測量系統(tǒng),通過對單偏振光纖的光譜帶寬、消光比參數(shù)的大量測量和分析,找到了光譜帶寬對消光比參數(shù)影響的原因。結(jié)論是單偏振光纖的工作波長要遠(yuǎn)離光譜帶寬的下限位置,即HE_(11y)模式的截止損耗峰,另外,要求HE_(11y)模式的截止損耗要陡峭,這樣才能保證單偏振光纖具有高消光比特性。
[Abstract]:Extinction ratio is one of the characteristic parameters to characterize the polarization performance of single-polarization fiber. There are many factors affecting it, such as spectral bandwidth. A biaxial spectral bandwidth measurement system is built based on the measurement of panda type single polarization fiber. By measuring and analyzing the spectral bandwidth and extinction ratio parameters of single polarization fiber, the reasons for the influence of spectral bandwidth on extinction ratio parameters are found. The conclusion is that the operating wavelength of single-polarization fiber should be far from the lower limit of spectral bandwidth, that is, the cut-off loss peak of HE_ (11y) mode, in addition, the cut-off loss of HE_ (11y) mode should be steep. Only in this way can the single polarization fiber have high extinction ratio.
