[Abstract]:Vehicular network (VANETs) is required to provide delay-sensitive security applications and non-secure applications of communication services. This makes the MAC protocol not only satisfy the delay and reliability of secure messages, but also guarantee the utilization of service channels of non-secure messages, which challenges the design of MAC.Therefore, an improved MAC algorithm based on time-division multiple access (TDMA) is proposed to allocate two sub-slots to each vehicle in each synchronous frame. The proposed algorithm aims to improve the access rate of collision free channel and the transmission rate of security messages. At the same time, the idle time slot is rescheduled, and the idle time slot is given priority based on the shortest job first criterion (SJF), in order to improve the utilization of service channel.Simulation results show that the proposed I-TDMA-MAC algorithm has a high security message delivery rate of 99%. When the traffic density reaches 100 vehicle/km, the service channel utilization rate is close to 90%.
