波長掃描激光器線寬的動態(tài)測量

【摘要】:摘要:基于SOA的可調(diào)諧光纖環(huán)形腔激光器在光纖傳感、光纖通信、光信息處理、非線性光學(xué)、特別是醫(yī)療器械儀器設(shè)備等領(lǐng)域有著重要的應(yīng)用,是光纖傳感和光學(xué)相干層析技術(shù)中的關(guān)鍵部件,其工作性能直接影響整個光學(xué)相干層析技術(shù)系統(tǒng),其動態(tài)輸出光譜特性決定了傳感與成像系統(tǒng)的分辨率水平,因此對其動態(tài)輸出光譜特性尤其是光譜線寬的測量有著重要的意義。 本文理論分析了基于SOA的光纖環(huán)形腔激光器的工作機制和輸出光譜特性,討論了測量動態(tài)輸出光譜線寬的可行性,并采用了一種基于馬赫-增德干涉結(jié)構(gòu)改進的延時外差方法對實驗室自制的環(huán)形腔激光器固定波長和波長掃描兩種工作狀態(tài)下的光譜線寬特性進行測量,得到了波長掃描狀態(tài)下波長掃描頻率與光源相干特性的關(guān)系。采用了一種新型的利用電光調(diào)制器(EOM)調(diào)制截取輸出激光的方法對環(huán)形腔激光器波長掃描工作方式的輸出光譜進行直接動態(tài)測量,實現(xiàn)了對傅里葉域鎖模狀態(tài)下連續(xù)寬譜光源任意波長線寬特性的直接測量,并通過實驗研究了調(diào)制光脈沖的時域特性對輸出光譜特性的影響。一系列研究結(jié)果表明,兩種不同工作機制運行的測量方案對輸出光譜線寬結(jié)果不同但是存在關(guān)系,利用EOM直接測量的方法比延時外差法測得的光譜線寬略大,波長掃描頻率為60kHz時,延時外差法測量激光器輸出光譜線寬在5pm,利用EOM方法測得為37pm。實驗結(jié)果證明了兩種方法在波長掃描狀態(tài)下激光器輸出光譜線寬測量領(lǐng)域各自的優(yōu)越性和局限性,為深入理解光纖環(huán)形腔激光器工作機制提供了依據(jù),并為實現(xiàn)直接實時測量連續(xù)寬譜光源的光譜特性打下了基礎(chǔ)。
[Abstract]:Abstract: tunable fiber ring cavity lasers based on SOA have important applications in the fields of optical fiber sensing, optical fiber communication, optical information processing, nonlinear optics, especially medical instruments and equipment. It is a key component in optical fiber sensing and optical coherence tomography technology. Its performance directly affects the whole optical coherence tomography system. Its dynamic output spectral characteristics determine the resolution level of the sensing and imaging system. Therefore, it is of great significance to measure the dynamic output spectral characteristics, especially the spectral linewidth. In this paper, the working mechanism and output spectral characteristics of fiber ring cavity laser based on SOA are theoretically analyzed, and the feasibility of measuring dynamic output spectral linewidth is discussed. A modified time-delay heterodyne method based on Mach Zende interference structure is used to measure the spectral linewidth characteristics of a self-made ring cavity laser in two working states: fixed wavelength and wavelength scanning. The relationship between the wavelength scanning frequency and the coherent characteristics of the light source under wavelength scanning is obtained. A new method using electro-optic modulator EOM modulation to intercept the output laser is proposed for the wavelength scanning mode of the ring cavity laser. Direct dynamic measurement of the output spectrum, The direct measurement of arbitrary wavelength linewidth characteristics of continuous wide-spectrum light source in mode-locked state in Fourier domain is realized. The influence of the time-domain characteristics of modulated light pulses on the output spectral characteristics is studied experimentally. A series of results show that, Two kinds of measurement schemes with different working mechanisms have different results on the output spectral linewidth, but there is a relationship between them. The direct measurement method using EOM is a little larger than that measured by delay heterodyne method, and the wavelength scanning frequency is 60kHz. The output spectral linewidth of the laser is measured by delay heterodyne method at 5 pm and by EOM method at 37 pm. The experimental results demonstrate the advantages and limitations of the two methods in the field of laser output spectral linewidth measurement under wavelength scanning. It provides a basis for further understanding the working mechanism of fiber ring laser, and lays a foundation for the realization of direct real-time measurement of spectral characteristics of continuous wide spectrum light source.
