【摘要】：1866年2月,在新西蘭奧塔哥省的兩度邀請之下,12名來自澳洲維多利亞金礦的華工到達達尼丁,由此開始了持續(xù)數(shù)十年的華工淘金熱。1871年10月,新西蘭華人總數(shù)達到4215人。當數(shù)千名華人成為新西蘭的現(xiàn)實存在以后,當?shù)厣鐣䦟τ谌A人的到來反響不一,新西蘭國會于1871年專門成立華人移民特別委員會展開調(diào)查,其調(diào)查結(jié)論對于華人移民給予了肯定的評價。然而,19世紀70年代末期,隨著政治、經(jīng)濟格局的轉(zhuǎn)變以及種族主義勢力的急劇膨脹,新西蘭于1881年正式出臺排華立法。在從容納到排斥的轉(zhuǎn)換過程中,華人群體蒙受了諸多不公指責和肆意侮辱,他們被不可預知的變數(shù)所裹挾的命運以及由此折射出的中國國運的式微,令人嘆息。
[Abstract]:In February 1866, 12 Chinese workers from Australia's Victoria Gold Mine arrived in Danitin after two invitations from Otago Province, New Zealand, starting a decades-long gold rush for Chinese workers. The total number of Chinese in New Zealand has reached 4215. When thousands of Chinese became a reality in New Zealand, the local community reacted differently to the arrival of the Chinese. In 1871, the New Zealand Parliament set up a special committee on Chinese immigration to conduct an investigation. However, in the end of 70s of the 19th century, with the transformation of political and economic patterns and the rapid expansion of racist forces, In 1881, New Zealand formally introduced anti-Chinese legislation. In the process of transition from accommodation to exclusion, the Chinese community suffered many unfair accusations and wanton insults. Their fate as a result of unpredictable variables and the decline of China's fortunes as a result are lamentable.
