[Abstract]:In the first three quarters of 2017, imports of beef from Tianjin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau totaled 212000 tons, or about US $812.719 million, an increase of 28.1 percent and 24.5 percent respectively over the same period last year, according to a reporter from the Tianjin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina and New Zealand accounted for 90 percent of the total imports, respectively. In the first half of 2017, Uruguay overtook Brazil as the largest importer of beef at Tianjin Port. In the third quarter, imports continued to remain the largest; Argentina's imports grew fastest, up 69.1 from a year earlier; American beef also appeared for the first time at Tianjin Port after 14 years; Australia's imports fell 16.3 percent, falling in the rankings.
