【摘要】：禮貌作為人們成功交際的一種重要手段,自上世紀(jì)七十年代以來,禮貌現(xiàn)象就引起了各個(gè)領(lǐng)域?qū)W者的普遍關(guān)注,語言學(xué)家紛紛針對(duì)禮貌現(xiàn)象提出各種理論,其中影響最大的屬利奇的禮貌原則和列文森的面子保全論。英文商務(wù)電子郵件作為外貿(mào)交際的重要手段,對(duì)交易的達(dá)成有著至關(guān)重要的影響。因此,在商務(wù)交際過程中,信息撰寫人除了要熟練掌握相關(guān)語言表達(dá)外,如何巧妙地運(yùn)用禮貌策略將信息以得體的方式傳達(dá)給對(duì)方就成為信息撰寫人首要考慮的問題。本文以利奇的禮貌原則與布朗和列文森的面子保全論為理論研究框架,將英文商務(wù)電子郵件作為研究載體,主要以例證法探討了禮貌現(xiàn)象如何在不同類型的英文商務(wù)郵件中得到體現(xiàn)并發(fā)現(xiàn)相應(yīng)的規(guī)律。本文結(jié)合英語商務(wù)郵件的特點(diǎn)和在外貿(mào)交易不同階段的作用來將其分為四大類:建立貿(mào)易關(guān)系類郵件、業(yè)務(wù)洽談?lì)愢]件、業(yè)務(wù)成交類郵件和投訴與索賠類郵件,并從詞、句和篇的層面對(duì)以上四類郵件的禮貌現(xiàn)象進(jìn)行描述性分析。通過研究發(fā)現(xiàn)人們?yōu)榱藢?shí)現(xiàn)成功的交際,在撰寫郵件時(shí)均會(huì)針對(duì)不同的主題采取不同的禮貌策略去規(guī)約詞的選擇、句型的運(yùn)用及篇章的布局,而這些禮貌策略之間既有共同點(diǎn)也存在著差異。本研究有助于人們在撰寫郵件時(shí)更好地將禮貌策略運(yùn)用到言語交際中,促進(jìn)交際的成功實(shí)現(xiàn),同時(shí)也望該研究能對(duì)廣大外貿(mào)從業(yè)者和英語語言學(xué)習(xí)者提供一定的理論參考和實(shí)踐指導(dǎo)。
[Abstract]:Politeness is an important means of successful communication. Since the 1970s, politeness has attracted the attention of scholars in various fields. Linguists have put forward various theories on politeness. Among them, Leech's politeness principle and Levinson's face-saving theory are the most influential ones. As an important means of foreign trade communication, English business email has a vital influence on the conclusion of transactions. Therefore, in the process of business communication, In addition to mastering the relevant language, the information writer, How to use politeness strategy skillfully to convey information to the other party in a proper way becomes the primary consideration of the information writers. This paper takes Leech's politeness principle and Brown's and Levinson's face saving theory as the theoretical framework. Take English business email as the research carrier, This paper mainly discusses how the politeness phenomenon is embodied in different types of English business mail and finds out the corresponding rules. This paper combines the characteristics of English business mail and its role in different stages of foreign trade transactions. It is divided into four categories: establishing trade relations type mail, This paper analyzes the politeness phenomena of the above four kinds of mail from the aspects of words, sentences and articles, and finds out that people want to achieve successful communication in order to achieve the successful communication, by means of business negotiation type mail, business transaction type mail and complaint and claim type mail. In writing emails, different politeness strategies are adopted for different topics to regulate the choice of words, the use of sentence patterns and the layout of the text. These politeness strategies have both similarities and differences. This study is helpful for people to better apply politeness strategies to verbal communication in order to promote the successful realization of communication. At the same time, it is hoped that this study can provide some theoretical and practical guidance for foreign trade practitioners and English language learners.
