    In recent years, project management maturity model (PMMM, or PM3) has been attracting more and more attentions in the field of project management.

A capability maturity model is introduced and discussed in details in this paper to assess the project management levels of different construction organizations. It is a process-oriented model established on the basis of nine PM knowledge areas and five PM processes. It allows a construction organization to determine the strengths and weaknesses of current practices and focus on the weak practices to achieve higher project management capability maturity.
