[Abstract]:Currencies such as the yuan and the dollar are increasingly circulating in North Korea after the North Korean government changed its currency in 2009. North Korean people especially like to use the renminbi to buy goods outside of rationing, become a new phenomenon in North Korea's economic life. Du Baiyu, a reporter from Xinhua News Agency in Pyongyang, said that the average North Korean people now hold a certain amount of foreign currency, including US dollars, renminbi, euros and so on. A longtime European diplomat in Pyongyang said the most significant change was the increase in the use of the yuan by North Korean residents.
