The result is that h = 6.62606983 x 10-34 J.s. This high-precision result is sufficient to accurately define the "kilogram" in the International System of Units. For nearly 130 years, the international definition of kilogram has been based on a piece of platinum. Iridium, deposited in the International Bureau of Metrics and Measures (BIPM) in Paris. This international kilogram prototype has long been recognized as the basis of the International System of Units (SI).
