語(yǔ)言與社會(huì)是不可分的兩個(gè)方面,語(yǔ)言隨著社會(huì)的發(fā)展不斷進(jìn)步。反之,社會(huì)的發(fā)展與語(yǔ)言的發(fā)展是相輔相成的。語(yǔ)言作為人類區(qū)別于其它動(dòng)物的一個(gè)重要特性,在人類社會(huì)中起著重要的作用。隨著人類社會(huì)的不斷進(jìn)步與發(fā)展,人類對(duì)語(yǔ)言的研究不斷深入,語(yǔ)言學(xué)的分類更為細(xì)致。作為一個(gè)社會(huì)的人,可以按照其年齡、性別、籍貫、職業(yè)、愛(ài)好、信仰等等而從屬于各種不同角度的社會(huì)分類,適應(yīng)于這些不同的社會(huì)集團(tuán),他的語(yǔ)言也就會(huì)產(chǎn)生不同的變異。說(shuō)話人因社會(huì)屬性、社會(huì)經(jīng)歷、社會(huì)地位、職業(yè)職務(wù)、文化修養(yǎng)、宗教信仰、情趣愛(ài)好,以及年齡、性別、風(fēng)俗習(xí)慣、地域等不同在語(yǔ)言運(yùn)用上就有差異。據(jù)說(shuō)有一次人們給古希臘哲學(xué)家蘇格拉底引來(lái)一個(gè)人,希望他發(fā)表對(duì)這個(gè)人的看法。蘇格拉底說(shuō)只要這個(gè)人說(shuō)話,我就可以發(fā)表對(duì)他的看法。因?yàn)槊總�(gè)人的性格、脾氣、職業(yè)、年齡等等是往往可以從其言語(yǔ)中看出來(lái)的。我們可以說(shuō),社會(huì)各學(xué)科的發(fā)展與語(yǔ)言是密不可分的。社會(huì)的發(fā)展,經(jīng)濟(jì)的繁榮,人類的進(jìn)步,等等都與語(yǔ)言這一媒介有著重要的關(guān)聯(lián)。語(yǔ)言學(xué)的研究在F.de Saussure之后特別專注于純語(yǔ)言學(xué),或者說(shuō)是內(nèi)部語(yǔ)言學(xué)的研究,希望能得出一個(gè)統(tǒng)一的語(yǔ)言理論。這些不顧語(yǔ)言的上下文關(guān)聯(lián)、適當(dāng)性...
