　　身份認(rèn)同的問題無處不在。在不同的國度和不同的歷史時(shí)期，身份認(rèn)同的問題導(dǎo)致了一定的社會(huì)裂痕和種種沖突。鑒于它在現(xiàn)代社會(huì)中的重要性，此問題引起了人們廣泛的關(guān)注。經(jīng)過多年發(fā)展與完善，身份認(rèn)同研究已逐漸成為一門顯學(xué)。 黑人身份認(rèn)同的困惑是美國文化與文學(xué)中的一個(gè)特殊現(xiàn)象，它體現(xiàn)在以盎格魯—撒克遜白人種族占主導(dǎo)地位的美國社會(huì)中黑人對(duì)自身文化身份認(rèn)同的迷惘。這種迷惘不僅是生理上的，亦是心理上的。很多早期的黑人文學(xué)作品在不同程度上反映了這個(gè)現(xiàn)象，其中尤以杜波依斯提出的黑人身份的二重性最具概括性。二次世界大戰(zhàn)以來，美國政府對(duì)外宣傳民主政策、對(duì)內(nèi)推行種族歧視，這種巨大的社會(huì)差異激發(fā)了黑人強(qiáng)烈的種族意識(shí)。美國文壇涌現(xiàn)出越來越多的黑人作家，以犀利的文筆針砭社會(huì)弊端。拉爾夫·艾利森、理查德·賴特、艾麗斯·沃克、阿米尼·巴拉克、托尼·莫里森，奧古斯特·威爾遜等就是這個(gè)群體中的佼佼者。他們的作品無一例外地觸及了美國社會(huì)中的黑人處境，也無一例外地探討了黑人身份認(rèn)同的主題。 奧古斯特·威爾遜被視為繼尤金·奧尼爾、阿瑟·米勒、田納西·威廉斯后美國最杰出的劇作家，他花費(fèi)了二十余年撰寫的十個(gè)系列劇如實(shí)地反映了美國二十世紀(jì)每十...
