加拿大“文學(xué)之母”瑪格麗特·勞倫斯(Margaret Laurence,1926-1987)是加拿大文藝復(fù)興時(shí)期最負(fù)盛名的女作家之一,兩次榮獲加拿大最高文學(xué)獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)——總督獎(jiǎng),以故鄉(xiāng)小鎮(zhèn)尼帕瓦為原型的五部馬納瓦卡系列草原小說更是使勞倫斯在當(dāng)代世界文學(xué)領(lǐng)域享有重要聲譽(yù)。《石頭天使》是瑪格麗特·勞倫斯的第一部馬納瓦卡系列長(zhǎng)篇小說,被認(rèn)為是主題與技巧結(jié)合的最為完美的代表作。小說打破傳統(tǒng)的線性敘事方式,以主人公哈格為第一人稱,通過回憶與現(xiàn)實(shí)穿插的敘事手法將哈格一生的遭遇生動(dòng)地再現(xiàn)。二十一世紀(jì)以來,“空間轉(zhuǎn)向”為我們提供了分析文本的理論原則:空間不僅僅是傳統(tǒng)意義上靜態(tài)的自然屬性的研究方法,還是具有社會(huì)屬性的多維理論基礎(chǔ),并具有其深刻的現(xiàn)實(shí)意義。所以作為一位有非洲生活經(jīng)歷的加拿大作家,勞倫斯的生活背景無疑給作品提供了特殊的空間體驗(yàn)。因此,在前輩學(xué)者研究成果的基礎(chǔ)上,運(yùn)用空間敘事理論結(jié)合文本細(xì)讀方法來挖掘《石頭天使》的空間價(jià)值。將物理空間劃分為靜態(tài)地理空間和動(dòng)態(tài)生存空間,靜態(tài)地理空間的三個(gè)典型空間意象以及動(dòng)態(tài)生存空間的三次遷移,呈現(xiàn)出不同的空間屬性特征;兩性權(quán)力空間和宗教文化空間構(gòu)成的社會(huì)空間奠定了主人...
