特德·姜（Ted Chiang）是最重要的華裔科幻作家之一,他的作品獲得眾多獎項,越來越引起國內(nèi)對他的關(guān)注。本論文以諾思羅普·弗萊（Northrop Frye）的原型批評理論為理論基礎(chǔ),以特德·姜《巴比倫塔》、《商人與煉金術(shù)士之門》和《地獄是上帝不在的地方》三部短篇科幻作品為研究對象,通過分析作品中出現(xiàn)的圣經(jīng)意象、人物、敘事結(jié)構(gòu)、母題等原型,展現(xiàn)特德·姜對于圣經(jīng)的繼承和創(chuàng)新,引發(fā)讀者對當(dāng)下人類精神困境的思考。論文共分為三部分。在第一部分中,第一章介紹了國內(nèi)外對于特德·姜的研究現(xiàn)狀、論文的研究目的和意義,第二章梳理了弗萊的原型批評理論的理論背景、基本觀點及其理論價值。第二部分為主體部分,可分為三章。每一章分析一部特德·姜的科幻小說,三章循環(huán)深入、逐層挖掘。更詳盡地說,第三章在具體研究《巴比倫塔》中的巴別塔意象原型、敘事結(jié)構(gòu)原型、墮落母題原型的基礎(chǔ)上,告誡人類若過度追求工具理性,必然墮入無盡的精神困境之中。第四章聚焦于《商人與煉金術(shù)士之門》中的先知原型、嵌入式敘事結(jié)構(gòu)和追尋母題原型,鼓勵墮落的人類在循環(huán)往復(fù)的命運困境中,通過追尋反思以發(fā)現(xiàn)人生不一樣的意義。第五章詳細研究《地獄是上帝不在的地...
