“跨界書寫”—《女勇士》中的中國人形象分析

湯亭亭是當今美國文壇享有盛譽的華裔女作家,著有《女勇士》,《中國佬》,《孫行者》,《第五和平書》,《戰(zhàn)爭的老兵,和平的老兵》。1976年,湯亭亭發(fā)表了回憶錄式的自傳小說《女勇士》,書中使用拼貼的手法記敘了自己在美國的生活經(jīng)驗以及母親給她口述的中國故事�!杜率俊返某霭孀寽ねっ暣笤�,同年湯憑借該書獲得了全美書評界非小說獎�!杜率俊吩谌A裔美國文學(xué)史上有極高的地位,任何華裔美國文學(xué)研究都繞不開湯亭亭和《女勇士》。自該書發(fā)表以來,學(xué)界一直沒有停止過對該書的探討。本文從比較文學(xué)形象學(xué)的角度分析文本中塑造出的中國人形象,主體部分對湯亭亭的“跨界”書寫策略進行深入剖析,并通過文本細讀總結(jié)出文本中中國形象的三個側(cè)面。本文主要運用了女性主義理論以及霍米巴巴有關(guān)多元文化主義敘事策略的理論來分析書中的中國人形象。第一章結(jié)合女性主義理論分析文本中的女性形象,并提出湯的跨性別書寫策略;第二章集中探討了“鬼魂”的形象,并從中美文化中尋找鬼的原型;第三章分析了華人社區(qū)形象,從而歸納出湯的跨種族書寫策略。并對這三類形象進行分析,從而反思華裔女性作家的湯亭亭在美國白人社會的生活狀況和生存策略。
