【摘要】：小亨利·路易斯·蓋茨是當(dāng)今美國(guó)最有影響力的非裔美國(guó)人,也是最具爭(zhēng)議的非裔美國(guó)公共知識(shí)分子之一。他繼承了非裔美國(guó)知識(shí)分子引領(lǐng)種族未來(lái)的責(zé)任意識(shí)。在學(xué)術(shù)層面,他致力于使非裔美國(guó)文學(xué)研究成為一種自覺的理論,恢復(fù)非裔美國(guó)人對(duì)自身文化闡釋的主體性;在政治層面,他的文學(xué)—文化策略由對(duì)抗主流立場(chǎng)轉(zhuǎn)為尋求"合作"。在將非裔美國(guó)人推向更寬廣的政治文化舞臺(tái)的過(guò)程中,蓋茨的倫理性受到?jīng)_擊,造成他對(duì)自身公共知識(shí)分子身份的"背叛",并引發(fā)出關(guān)于他的廣泛爭(zhēng)議。這一現(xiàn)象不僅體現(xiàn)了后民權(quán)時(shí)代非裔美國(guó)公共知識(shí)分子的倫理困境,也從一個(gè)側(cè)面折射出全球公共知識(shí)分子的共同境遇。
[Abstract]:Henry Louis Gates Jr. is the most influential African-American and one of the most controversial African-American public intellectuals. He inherited a sense of responsibility for African-American intellectuals to lead the racial future. At the academic level, he devoted himself to making African-American literary research a conscious theory and restoring the subjectivity of African-Americans' interpretation of their own culture. At the political level, his literary-cultural strategy changed from confrontation to seeking cooperation. In pushing African-Americans to the broader political and cultural stage, Gates's ethical character was attacked, causing him to "betray" his identity as a public intellectual, and aroused widespread controversy about him. This phenomenon not only reflects the ethical dilemma of African-American public intellectuals in the post-civil rights era, but also reflects the common circumstances of the global public intellectuals.
