基于弗洛姆人本主義理論剖析《月亮和六便士》中現(xiàn)代人的生存困境

【摘要】：威廉·薩姆賽特·毛姆(1874-1965)是一個跨世紀(jì)的英國作家,他的作品既繼承了傳統(tǒng)現(xiàn)實主義對現(xiàn)實生活的真實刻畫與批評,又吸收了20世紀(jì)現(xiàn)代主義關(guān)注個體心靈的特點。他總是擅長通過平實易懂的語言來講述一個個精致復(fù)雜的故事,冷靜犀利地批判人性�！对铝梁土闶俊肥敲反碜髦�,小說主人公的原型是法國后印象派畫家保羅·高更。小說一經(jīng)出版便得到廣泛關(guān)注。作者以第一人稱的敘述方式,講述了人到中年的證券經(jīng)紀(jì)人思特里克蘭德突然拋棄家庭和財富,去追逐自己的繪畫夢想的故事。跟小說中的其他人相比,斯特里克蘭德顯得古怪而難以理解。小說中對包括主人公在內(nèi)的形形色色的人物的性格刻畫入木三分,充分展現(xiàn)了毛姆對人性的洞悉及對現(xiàn)代人生存困境的擔(dān)憂。本文試圖結(jié)合社會文化背景,從與毛姆同一時期的哲學(xué)家埃里�！じヂ迥�(1900-1980)的人本主義學(xué)說角度對《月亮和六便士》進(jìn)行分析和研究,首先分析了小說中主要人物的性格,小說中的現(xiàn)代人在社會中被金錢和地位蒙蔽了雙眼,迷失了本心。接著從社會和個人兩個方面分析找出形成現(xiàn)代人非生產(chǎn)性性格并陷入生存困境的原因,通過這些分析,本文試圖找出解決精神危機(jī)的辦法,幫助現(xiàn)代人建立具有創(chuàng)造性的愛的健全人格,構(gòu)建和諧社會。
[Abstract]:William Samssett Maugham (1874-1965) is a cross-century English writer whose works not only inherits the true portrayal and criticism of real life by traditional realism but also absorbs the characteristics of modernism concerning the individual mind in the 20th century. He is always good at telling elaborate and complex stories in plain and intelligible language and criticizing human nature coolly and acutely. The Moon and Sixpence is one of Maugham's masterpieces and the protagonist of the novel is the French post-impressionist Paul Gauguin. As soon as the novel was published, it got wide attention. In the first person narrative, the author tells the story of a middleaged stockbroker, Strickland, who suddenly abandoned his family and wealth to pursue his painting dream. Strickland was strange and incomprehensible compared to the rest of the novel. The characterization of various characters in the novel, including the protagonist, fully reveals Maugham's insight into human nature and his worries about the plight of modern people. This paper attempts to analyze and study the Moon and Sixpence from the point of view of the humanistic theory of Erich Fromm (1900-1980), a philosopher in the same period as Maugham, combining the social and cultural background. At first, it analyzes the characters of the main characters in the novel. The modern people in the novel were blinded by money and status and lost their heart. Then from the social and personal aspects to find out the formation of non-productive personality of modern people and into the plight of survival, through these analysis, this paper tries to find out the solution to the spiritual crisis. To help modern people to build a healthy personality with creative love and build a harmonious society.
