《圓屋》中美國(guó)本土女性的身份重構(gòu)
[Abstract]:Louise Erdrich,1954- is the representative writer of the second wave of Indian Literature Revival and one of the most influential local women writers. So far, she has published a total of fifteen novels. The 14th novel, the Round House, was first published in 2012 and won the National Book Award in 2012, and the author himself was awarded the Dayton Prize for Literature in 2014. A true picture of the plight of Native American women is that one third of native women are sexually abused throughout their lives, 86 percent of which are committed by non-Indian men. Because of both race and female identity, native American women are often subjected to double oppression in mainstream society. Ironically, before being invaded by white culture, Indian tribes had a long matrilineal culture and were highly respected as women. However, the white patriarchal culture subverts their identity and status, and women are reduced to others and even demonized. In order to get rid of the identity crisis, local women can not wait to die, they must rebuild their own local and female dual identity, and win the right to speak and regain their status in American society. Starting from feminism, combining the views of some post-colonial theories and the history and culture of Native Americans, this paper reveals the racial and gender identity crisis of contemporary Native American women. At the same time, by analyzing the female image in the novel, the author also excavates the identity reconstruction strategy implied in "Round House", that is, the awakening of female subject consciousness, the return of traditional culture, and the pursuit of legal justice. This paper is composed of introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction briefly introduces Louis Erdrich and his research methods and significance, and will sort out the research situation at home and abroad. The first chapter introduces the racial and female identity issues embodied in the novel. The second chapter analyzes the female identity crisis and race identity crisis of Indian women from the four female characters in the novel. The third chapter will explain the strategy of reconstructing native female identity from three angles of female self-awakening, returning to tradition and pursuing legal justice. The conclusion part is a further summary of the full text.
