【摘要】：英國(guó)19世紀(jì)后期作家喬治·吉辛的小說(shuō)《瑟爾薩》中的男主人公似乎頗受批評(píng)家的青睞,而作為小說(shuō)標(biāo)題的女主人公瑟爾薩·特倫特卻未能得到足夠的重視。這似乎與吉辛以瑟爾薩作為小說(shuō)題名的初衷相悖。如果我們細(xì)考小說(shuō)中多處出現(xiàn)的瑟爾薩的面貌描寫,就可對(duì)作家的初衷了然不惑。小說(shuō)旨在以瑟爾薩的容貌變化作為小說(shuō)結(jié)構(gòu)的一條主線,充分展現(xiàn)其心智發(fā)展過(guò)程和生活狀態(tài),從而質(zhì)疑工具理性主宰下的現(xiàn)代生活。該主線與以男主人公為中心的另一條主線交織在一起,從文化的視角揭示生活必須關(guān)注心智培育,并且向我們提供了一種美好的生活愿景。
[Abstract]:The protagonist in English late 19th century writer George Gisin's novel Sersa seems to be popular with critics, but the heroine Sertha Trent, as the title of the novel, has not received enough attention. This seems contrary to Gisin's original intention of using Thursa as the title of the novel. If we examine the various features of Sersa in the novel, we can understand the original intention of the writer. The purpose of the novel is to take the appearance change of Thursa as the main line of the novel structure, to fully show its mental development process and life state, and thus to question the modern life under the domination of instrumental rationality. The main line is intertwined with another main line centered on the hero, which reveals from the cultural perspective that life must pay attention to the cultivation of the mind, and provides us with a good vision of life.
