舞臺(tái)上的民族:民族身份與20世紀(jì)愛爾蘭戲劇

【摘要】:愛爾蘭戲劇在20世紀(jì)的發(fā)展可以看作是一種致力于想象和構(gòu)建民族身份的藝術(shù)形式。自20世紀(jì)以來,愛爾蘭戲劇以"愛爾蘭文藝復(fù)興"為主題,挑戰(zhàn)和顛覆英國殖民者對愛爾蘭強(qiáng)加的文化形象,以戲劇空間表現(xiàn)了本民族的身份認(rèn)同——愛爾蘭特性。自此,戲劇和劇場成為定義和討論民族身份的場域。劇作家在作品中不斷對愛爾蘭特性進(jìn)行修正和重新定位,以期獲得與時(shí)代相吻合的特質(zhì),形成一個(gè)關(guān)于民族身份的譜系。因此,不是肯定某種愛爾蘭身份,而是探索肯定身份的不同方式,如何去想象、討論、否定、修正和爭論,避免對民族身份的本質(zhì)主義定義。民族的發(fā)展需要對民族身份的定義進(jìn)行不斷的展演和修正。
[Abstract]:The development of Irish drama in the 20th century can be regarded as an artistic form devoted to imagination and construction of national identity. Since the 20th century, Irish drama has taken "Irish Renaissance" as its theme, challenging and subverting the cultural image imposed on Ireland by British colonists. Since then, drama and theatre have become the domain of defining and discussing national identity. Playwrights constantly revise and reorient the Irish characteristics in order to obtain the characteristics consistent with the times and form a pedigree of national identity. Therefore, it is not an affirmation of an Irish identity, but an exploration of different ways of affirming identity, how to imagine, discuss, negate, revise and argue, avoiding the essentialism definition of national identity. The development of a nation needs to constantly show and revise the definition of national identity.
