【摘要】：正一約翰·契弗(John Cheever,1912—1982)是20世紀美國最偉大的短篇小說家之一,獲得過美國全國圖書獎、普利策文學獎等重大獎項,契弗擅長描寫"二戰(zhàn)"后生活在城市郊區(qū)的美國中產階級,被譽為刻畫城市郊區(qū)生活的契訶夫。雖然契弗在當代美國文學史上具有重要的地位,但國內學界對他關注較少,迄今為止只刊發(fā)了數十篇討論其作品的論文,而且討論的視角和作品都較為單一。契弗與美國當代小說家塞林格
[Abstract]:John Cheevern John Cheevern (1912-1982) was one of the greatest American short story writers in the 20th century, winning major awards such as the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Literature. Cheever is good at describing the American middle class who lived in the suburbs after World War II and is regarded as Chekhov who portrays the suburban life of the city. Although Cheever plays an important role in the history of contemporary American literature, scholars in China pay little attention to him.
