《大倭二十四孝》的佛教色彩

【摘要】:作為江戶時代前期盛行的啟蒙教化假名草子作品之一,《大倭二十四孝》刊行于寬文五(1665)年。毫無疑問,作品標(biāo)題中出現(xiàn)的"二十四孝"來源于中國古代弘揚孝道文化所產(chǎn)生的"二十四孝",因此本作品也基本被歸結(jié)為推廣孝道教化的啟蒙作品。對于這一類作品,除本論文接下來所要考察的《大倭二十四孝》以外,作者淺井了意還發(fā)表過《孝行物語》(萬治三年刊行)及《三綱行實圖》(寬文中期刊行)兩部作品。這兩部作品均由原本改編而來,收集了中國及古代朝鮮的各類孝子故事。整體內(nèi)容建立在天道思想的基礎(chǔ)上,大致可總結(jié)為,"孝子侍奉父母,感動天道,由此引發(fā)奇瑞,最終孝子孝道得以成全,可喜可賀"。以此為出發(fā)點,寬文五年刊行的《大倭二十四孝》則另辟蹊徑。前兩部作品所流露出的天道思想在《大倭二十四孝》屈指可數(shù),與此相對,佛教思想則隨處可見,完全取代了前者的地位。本論文正是以此為切入點,深入考察探究《大倭二十四孝》的創(chuàng)作方法。本論文由"序章"、"《大倭二十四孝》中的孝道與佛教"(第一章)、"繼子奉孝故事中孝道與佛教的結(jié)合"(第二章)、"孝子復(fù)仇故事中孝道與佛教的結(jié)合"(第三章)、"孝子追善故事中孝道與佛教的結(jié)合"(第四章)及"終章"六個主要部分組成。"序章"部分主要介紹了《大倭二十四孝》各個流傳版本及其作者爭議,并總結(jié)了《大倭二十四孝》迄今為止的主要先行研究資料?傮w來說,《大倭二十四孝》先行研究極其有限,并且其中大部分研究主要圍繞其中部分故事的素材考證。因此,對作品整體評價及其創(chuàng)作方法的研究及探討非常必要。第一章主要結(jié)合《大倭二十四孝》的內(nèi)容,分析整理了作品的作者相關(guān)、傳作背景及作品中的孝道性因素和佛教性因素。從作者生平可知了意不管是對于孝道或者佛教都有著足夠的激情促使其創(chuàng)作《大倭二十四孝》,同時通過對當(dāng)時的時代背景,江戶幕府提倡儒學(xué)的政策及當(dāng)時佛教所處的政治環(huán)境同樣可成為其創(chuàng)作誘因。第二章主要從《大倭二十四孝》的繼子奉孝故事,即"狹白"、"二宮花滿"及"照田姬"三個故事中探討繼子故事的要素及本作中繼子奉孝故事的創(chuàng)作方法。這三篇故事均有原案,通過與其原案的對比,分析了意的改編及其改編意圖,從而得出《大倭二十四孝》中繼子奉孝故事的創(chuàng)作方法。第三章從《大倭二十四孝》中的孝子復(fù)仇故事"山口秋道"的創(chuàng)作背景、及原案"秋道"的比較分析得出孝子復(fù)仇故事的創(chuàng)作方法。從"秋道"到"山口秋道",了意進(jìn)行了一系列的"加工",通過對此"加工"過程的考察,探究了意在《大倭二十四孝》中加入孝子復(fù)仇故事的意圖及其創(chuàng)作方法。第四章主要從孝子追善故事出發(fā)考察《大倭二十四孝》的方法。通過對淺井了意所創(chuàng)作的佛書中所表露出的追善供養(yǎng)的論說與"高橋種次"、"清原實元"、"佐藤藤生"所體現(xiàn)出的觀點進(jìn)行比較分析,探討孝子追善故事的核心所在。通過論文論述分析,我們可得出,作者了意作為一名僧人,創(chuàng)作《大倭二十四孝》的意圖更多在于佛教教義的宣傳。從繼子奉孝故事,到孝子復(fù)仇故事,及至孝子追善故事,在這一系列過程中,孝道逐漸融入佛教。這也契合了意的佛教理論,即孝順父母往往也是往生的契機(jī)。創(chuàng)作《大倭二十四孝》,并非是以佛教理論教化孝道的嘗試,亦或其反面,孝順父母本身就包含在了意的佛教理論中。此次創(chuàng)作意圖教化孝道,同時也是宣傳其佛教理論的一次嘗試。作品序文中所說的"佛道之緣"指的也正是孝道吧。
