【摘要】：賽珍珠(1892-1973)系美國作家,于中國長大,在中國生活了約四十年。她的小說《大地》的背景是中國社會,小說的主角是中國人。本文通過文本細(xì)讀分析并批判性地評論了賽珍珠在《大地》中對中國文化的敘述。本文指出了《大地》中的中國形象與真實(shí)的中國之間的異同,并分析了其異同的原因。本文指出,賽珍珠從小在中國生活長大并對中國文化和中國人民具有一定的感情,她在小說中運(yùn)用了文化相對主義而不是文化帝國主義的觀念來看待中國文化;在《大地》中,賽珍珠用中國人的視角對很多中國農(nóng)村風(fēng)俗進(jìn)行了細(xì)致而準(zhǔn)確的描寫,她富有同情地描寫了中國農(nóng)民,她的小說在一定程度上糾正了美國人早期對中國的東方刻板印象,加深了美國公眾對中國和中國人的熟悉程度。但賽珍珠未能在小說中反映二十世紀(jì)初當(dāng)代中國的社會現(xiàn)實(shí)和中國的民族解放斗爭,這是因?yàn)樗碾[含讀者是美國公眾,美國公眾對中國文化了解較少,對中國復(fù)雜的社會狀況的呈現(xiàn)將會使小說失去一部分美國讀者;賽珍珠在小說中刻意簡化描寫中國文化并淡化當(dāng)時(shí)中國的社會政治歷史背景,以促進(jìn)這本小說在美國讀者中的可理解性和可讀性。賽珍珠在小說中用藝術(shù)手法而非寫實(shí)的手法將她的中國素材塑造成一部具有普遍主題的小說,這有利于她的小說在不同文化中的傳播�！洞蟮亍肥琴愓渲榈囊徊克囆g(shù)創(chuàng)作作品,它與中國的歷史語境不符。小說中的中國元素是小說的表面現(xiàn)象,小說的深層框架是一部具有普遍性的全人類的故事。
[Abstract]:Pearl Buck is an American writer who grew up in China and lived in China for about forty years. Her novel the Earth is set in Chinese society. The protagonist of the novel is Chinese. This paper analyzes and criticizes Pearl Buck's narration of Chinese culture in the Earth, and points out the similarities and differences between the Chinese image and the real China. The paper points out that Pearl Buck grew up in China and has a certain affection for Chinese culture and Chinese people. In her novels, she uses the concept of cultural relativism rather than cultural imperialism to view Chinese culture. In the Earth, Pearl Buck describes many Chinese rural customs in detail and accurately from the perspective of the Chinese people. She wrote sympathetically about Chinese farmers, and her novels, to some extent, corrected the early American stereotypes of the East. But Pearl Buck fails to reflect in her novel the social realities of contemporary China in early 20th century and China's national liberation struggle, because her implied readers are the American public. The American public has little knowledge of Chinese culture, and the presentation of China's complicated social situation will make the novel lose some American readers. In the novel, Pearl Buck deliberately simplifies the description of Chinese culture and weakens the social and political historical background of China at that time. In order to promote the comprehensibility and readability of the novel among American readers, Pearl Buck portrays her Chinese material as a novel with universal themes in the novel by artistic rather than realistic means. This is conducive to the spread of her novels in different cultures. The Earth is an artistic creation of Pearl Buck, which is incompatible with the historical context of China. The Chinese element in the novel is the superficial phenomenon of the novel. The deep frame of the novel is a universal story of all mankind.
