【摘要】：《妻子與女兒》是伊麗莎白·蓋斯凱爾的最后一部小說,作品所呈現(xiàn)的現(xiàn)代性變革引發(fā)評論界各種解讀,但對其理解仍受困于陳舊的方法。實際上,蓋斯凱爾講述的現(xiàn)代性變革的本質(zhì)是印刷術(shù)與書籍普及影響下產(chǎn)生的兩種知識生產(chǎn)體系的博弈,即浪漫型的知識生產(chǎn)與反浪漫型的知識生產(chǎn)之間的博弈。其中,浪漫型的知識生產(chǎn)以詩化表達(dá)、秘密與隱私敘事傳達(dá)出一種具有顛覆性的個人主義訴求,它嚴(yán)重破壞了事物秩序和社會合法性,成為作者批判的對象;而反浪漫型的知識生產(chǎn)則以帝國的科考-殖民語匯、家政的法律與賬簿敘事等知識論述建構(gòu)出一種代表公共精神興起的譜系學(xué),它最終指向帝國秩序的鞏固與認(rèn)同。小說呈現(xiàn)的知識權(quán)力博弈是歷史的文本投射,小說本身反過來又參與了帝國的觀念構(gòu)成。

Among them, the romantic type of knowledge production in poetic expression, secrets and privacy narrative conveys a subversive individualism appeal, which seriously damaged the order of things and social legitimacy, became the object of criticism and author; the anti romantic type of knowledge production in the colonial empire expedition - vocabulary, domestic law and other knowledge to construct narrative books about the rise of a representative of the public spirit of the genealogy, it eventually Pointing to the consolidation and identification of the imperial order. The game of knowledge power presented in the novel is a historical projection of the text, which in turn is involved in the conceptual structure of the Empire.
