知覺場總被分成圖形(Figure)和背景(Ground)兩部分。圖形是感知中最突顯的部分,即人們注意的焦點(diǎn);背景則是次突顯的部分,是為突出圖形而襯托的部分。Langacker(2008:66)指出,“突顯”(prominence/salience)這一術(shù)語的意思并不是不言自明的,畢竟對某一事物的突顯可以有許多不同的方式。因而這樣的表述并不足以體現(xiàn)其特色。事實(shí)上,“突顯”(prominence/salience)僅僅表示話題分析的一個(gè)起始點(diǎn)。認(rèn)知語言學(xué)家將這一突顯原則恰到好處地應(yīng)用于語言結(jié)構(gòu)及應(yīng)用的研究,尤其是句法結(jié)構(gòu)的解釋。根據(jù)認(rèn)知語言學(xué)家的觀點(diǎn),突顯本質(zhì)上是一種認(rèn)知現(xiàn)象,它存在于人們對世界的感知中。因此,選擇不同的句子結(jié)構(gòu)實(shí)際上反映了人們觀察視角(perceptive point)的不同。 本文著重探討了突顯原則(principle of prominence)在不同新聞標(biāo)題中的具體體現(xiàn)。文章以圖形-背景分離(figure/ground segregation)為基礎(chǔ),分析了同一新聞事件下不同報(bào)道標(biāo)題中所體現(xiàn)的圖形和背景關(guān)系,并指出標(biāo)題中各要素不同程度的突顯。在對比分析的基礎(chǔ)上,進(jìn)一...
