　　文化與交際彼此相連,密不可分。作為東西方文化的典型代表,中美文化間存在著巨大的差異,常常給中美文化成員間的交際帶來困惑�；魻�(Hall,1976)第一次提出了高語境和低語境交流模式的概念,他指出,根據(jù)不同文化中人們對語境依賴程度的不同,文化可以分成高語境文化和低語境文化,并指出中國屬于高語境文化,美國屬于低語境文化。這種模式的提出為人們研究跨文化交流提供了一個很好的文化維度。因此本研究試圖從高低語境的角度出發(fā),采用對比分析法,來研究中美言語交際風(fēng)格的差異及其形成的根源。 本研究首先對比分析了高低語境文化下中美言語交際風(fēng)格方面的差異。在交際中,美國人重言語信息,趨向于直接明確,自我提高,談話取向型風(fēng)格,而中國人則更注重語境方面的內(nèi)容,喜歡間接含蓄,自我貶抑和沉默取向型交際。本研究還以中美電影中的對話為例對以上差異加以說明,并列舉了四組中美交際的失誤案例來進一步說明交際風(fēng)格對跨文化交際的影響。其次,本研究還分別從社會歷史,宗教與哲學(xué)以及思維方式三個方面分析了引起中美高低語境交際風(fēng)格形成的根源。這一研究有利于培養(yǎng)交際者的跨文化意識,增強跨文化交際能力,對跨文化交際有實際指導(dǎo)意義。
