模糊理論最初是在1965年由美國學者扎德提出來的。之后,它得到了世界各國語言學家的廣泛關注。模糊性被認為是語言的自然屬性之一,模糊語的使用突破了傳統(tǒng)語言使用規(guī)則一語言應該準確、清晰、生動。我們在日常生活中和一些文學作品中可以見到很多模糊語的使用,它們使得表達更加有效,有的時候它們甚至能夠表達出比所謂的精確語言更加精確的語義。 語言能夠反映文化,同時也能被文化制約。作為語言的一部分,模糊語也同樣與民族文化有著緊密的聯(lián)系。英漢兩個民族有著截然不同的文化,模糊語在這兩種語言中的使用也必然有著異同之處。本文旨在探討英漢模糊語民族文化的差異,通過對比的方法,分析英漢模糊語在語義、語用、修辭等方面的異同,并通過對中西方地理環(huán)境、經(jīng)濟格局和思維方式的分析探討產生英漢模糊語民族文化差異的根源。此研究會對外語教學和跨文化交際有所啟示,因為英漢模糊語的使用對跨文化交際影響很大,如果被忽視了,交際勢必要失敗,只有對造成此差異的原因進行深入的了解,不同文化間的交際才能順利進行。
