本文從語法化的視角,試對英漢情態(tài)動詞can和能進行對比分析。學者們已經(jīng)從不同的角度對情態(tài)動詞進行了研究,但是仍然有很大的空間值得去探索。傳統(tǒng)的對比研究從共時層面對英漢情態(tài)動詞can和能進行窮盡性的描述,試圖找出語言的相同和差異之處。他們只注重靜態(tài)的描述忽略了語言的動態(tài)演變,因而不能很好的解釋情態(tài)動詞各義項的關系,也不能從本質上分析語言相似性產(chǎn)生的原因。因此,本文將從新的視角對情態(tài)動詞進行研究和分析。本文不僅要探討兩個情態(tài)動詞語法化演變過程中的相同和差異之處,還要挖掘語義演變背后的認知動因和機制,彌補了前人研究的不足。在該理論框架下,本文從語料庫中搜羅真實的語料,從歷時的角度對英漢情態(tài)動詞can和能語法化路徑、機制、演變過程中的相同和差異等方面進行分析。通過研究,發(fā)現(xiàn)了英漢兩種語言具有很多相似的語義演變機制,進而可以幫助我們更好地了解英漢兩種語言的語義特征�；谌祟惞餐恼J知能力,語法化的機制可以為今后語言共性研究提供有價值的線索。
