文學(xué)翻譯中的風(fēng)格視角

【摘要】:近半個(gè)世紀(jì)以來,語言研究的成果和進(jìn)展對(duì)翻譯理論的探討和深化起著十分重要的推動(dòng)作用,翻譯理論家正在許多學(xué)科領(lǐng)域進(jìn)行探索,為翻譯理論的建設(shè)開拓新的途徑,提供新的論據(jù),這些學(xué)科領(lǐng)域主要有應(yīng)用語言學(xué)、社會(huì)語言學(xué)、語義學(xué)、符號(hào)學(xué)、邏輯學(xué)、美學(xué)等。文體學(xué)作為一門重要的學(xué)科進(jìn)入歐美翻譯理論研究工作始于六十年代。翻譯理論之所以能借助文體學(xué)研究,是因?yàn)檫@兩個(gè)研究領(lǐng)域的目的性是并行不悖的,即:如何憑借有效的語言手段進(jìn)行社會(huì)交流;同時(shí),二者也都不忽視文風(fēng)的時(shí)代性及風(fēng)格的個(gè)人性。翻譯必須隨文體之異、隨原文風(fēng)格之異而調(diào)整譯文,必須保證譯文對(duì)原文文體和風(fēng)格的適應(yīng)性。文體學(xué)的許多研究范圍,如對(duì)語域的研究以及對(duì)句與句之間、段與段之間的邏輯發(fā)展關(guān)系的探討,對(duì)翻譯理論的探討與實(shí)踐都具有不可忽視的意義。 作為文體學(xué)的一個(gè)分支,文學(xué)文體學(xué)專門研究文學(xué)文體(詩歌、小說、散文、戲劇等)。本文研究對(duì)象為文學(xué)文體,是根據(jù)現(xiàn)代文學(xué)文體學(xué)理論,即結(jié)合語言學(xué)理論(主要研究風(fēng)格的形式標(biāo)記)和有關(guān)的文學(xué)批評(píng)理論(主要研究風(fēng)格的非形式標(biāo)記),來探討文學(xué)翻譯中的風(fēng)格問題。風(fēng)格是作家在寫作中運(yùn)用語言的方式和作風(fēng),是其世界觀和辭章修養(yǎng)在使用語言中的體現(xiàn)。風(fēng)格的實(shí)質(zhì)從思想內(nèi)容和語言形式兩個(gè)方面表現(xiàn)出來。作家使用語言時(shí)都有一定的特點(diǎn),如習(xí)慣使用一定的詞語、句式、修辭技巧等,從而形成語言的個(gè)人風(fēng)格差別,同時(shí)個(gè)人風(fēng)格又是由個(gè)人的思想性格、氣質(zhì)修 養(yǎng)、審美觀以及時(shí)代、處境等因素所決定,因此風(fēng)格的概念比較寬。文體 風(fēng)格是好的文學(xué)文本和好的譯文不可缺少的重要因素,翻譯中風(fēng)格的傳達(dá) 關(guān)鍵在于是否能在轉(zhuǎn)換不同語言符號(hào)的同時(shí),再現(xiàn)出原文所蘊(yùn)涵的各種風(fēng) 格價(jià)值。本文重點(diǎn)討論風(fēng)格翻譯的必要性和重要性,原文風(fēng)格的識(shí)別和譯 文中風(fēng)格的再現(xiàn),,說明在譯文中盡可能保留和傳達(dá)原文的風(fēng)格是理想翻譯 的重要條件之一。 全文共分六部分,正文共四章。 序言部分簡述現(xiàn)代文體學(xué)理論的主要研究內(nèi)容及翻譯風(fēng)格論的中心 課題,并對(duì)全文內(nèi)容作出簡要說明. 第一章簡述風(fēng)格的定義并簡要回顧翻譯領(lǐng)域?qū)︼L(fēng)格是否可譯的爭(zhēng)論, 陳述自己的觀點(diǎn):通過實(shí)例證明風(fēng)格在多數(shù)情況下是可譯的,并能譯好,但 同時(shí)指出由于風(fēng)格有其審美和抽象的一面,要做到完全忠實(shí)于原風(fēng)格是非 常困難的,然而在文學(xué)翻譯中,風(fēng)格翻譯具有其必要性和重要性。 第二章著重討論為什么文學(xué)文體學(xué)能夠運(yùn)用在文學(xué)翻譯中。這是因?yàn)?一些傳統(tǒng)的翻譯理論有時(shí)候無法解決文學(xué)翻譯中出現(xiàn)的問題,而借助于文 學(xué)文體學(xué)的研究成果,譯者可以做到正確把握和再現(xiàn)原文風(fēng)格。文學(xué)文體 學(xué)不僅對(duì)作家創(chuàng)作與文學(xué)評(píng)論有指導(dǎo)作用,對(duì)譯家和評(píng)論家評(píng)論文學(xué)譯本 也有重要意義。 第三章是全文重點(diǎn).作為體現(xiàn)特定內(nèi)容或題材的風(fēng)格離不開形式方面 的東西,而形式不能獨(dú)立于具體的表現(xiàn)手段,即語言形式。本章從語言學(xué) 的角度對(duì)文本進(jìn)行文體風(fēng)格分析.主要是對(duì)文本形式標(biāo)記以從微觀到宏觀 的方式進(jìn)行分析闡述:l.語音層面2.詞匯層面3.句法層面4.修辭手段,說 明如何識(shí)別原文風(fēng)格意義并使之在譯文中得到合理的再現(xiàn)。 第四章主要考察非形式標(biāo)記風(fēng)格符號(hào)系統(tǒng)的具體表現(xiàn),說明止步于風(fēng) 格的語言形式標(biāo)記是不夠的,風(fēng)格還具有所謂神韻、風(fēng)骨、氣勢(shì)、情調(diào)等 特征,它們對(duì)讀者會(huì)產(chǎn)生特定的心理或?qū)徝烙绊,因此進(jìn)一步透徹理解原 文的總體風(fēng)格是作好翻譯的重要條件,這就需要對(duì)原文作者的精神氣質(zhì)、 寫作意圖、原作表現(xiàn)手法及作品本身具有的思想感情進(jìn)行分析,木文還對(duì) 作為原作審美主體的譯者在原文風(fēng)格再現(xiàn)中的作用作了初步的探討。 結(jié)論部分是對(duì)原文的歸納和總結(jié):風(fēng)格視角在文學(xué)翻譯中占有一席重 要地位,它屬于翻譯中的美學(xué)層次。文學(xué)翻譯中,僅能傳達(dá)原文內(nèi)容還不 夠,文章風(fēng)格越接近越好。風(fēng)格分析能幫助譯者從形式和內(nèi)容兩方面把握 原文,體會(huì)原文的精彩之處,為一篇內(nèi)容忠實(shí),風(fēng)采依然的理想譯文打下堅(jiān) 實(shí)的基礎(chǔ)。 關(guān)鍵詞:文學(xué)翻譯,文學(xué)文體學(xué),文體分析,翻譯風(fēng)格論,風(fēng)格的形式標(biāo) 記與非形式標(biāo)記 今
