話語變異與文學(xué)翻譯

【摘要】： 本文旨在應(yīng)用庫克的話語變異理論于文學(xué)翻譯中，來提高文學(xué)翻譯的質(zhì)量，亦即提高 譯品的文學(xué)性。庫克認(rèn)為文學(xué)的主要功能在于其認(rèn)知功能，即能夠復(fù)現(xiàn)并改變?nèi)藗儗κ澜?的主觀感受，而這一功能的實現(xiàn)是通過話語變異實現(xiàn)的，即可以通過作品中的形式變異（語 言與文本結(jié)構(gòu)變異）與讀者心理圖式的互動作用，破壞原有的圖式，建立新的圖式，或在 圖式間建立新的聯(lián)系，從而最終改變?nèi)藗儗κ澜绲闹饔^印象，而作品的文學(xué)性就體現(xiàn)于話 語變異中。 庫克的這一文學(xué)話語理論對文學(xué)翻譯無疑可起到一定的指導(dǎo)作用。這是因為，其一， 文學(xué)理論與文學(xué)翻譯有著內(nèi)在的聯(lián)系，文學(xué)理論直接體現(xiàn)為譯者對于文學(xué)文本的理解，這 幾乎是一種先決條件，它和翻譯實踐的關(guān)系表面上看來并不直接，實際上卻要決定翻譯實 踐的成功。文學(xué)翻譯本身就是一種文學(xué)研究，是一種閱讀，是接受，是某種文學(xué)視角的再 現(xiàn)。每一種文學(xué)理論都給譯者提供一種審視文學(xué)作品的視角，合適的視角能使讀者更能領(lǐng) 略作品描繪的世界，更能了解作者的意圖。其二，庫克的話語變異理論是當(dāng)今較為完善的 新的文學(xué)理論，該理論汲取了圖式理論的長處和認(rèn)知心理學(xué)的研究成果，以及形式主義、 結(jié)構(gòu)主義、讀者反映論的精華，在此基礎(chǔ)上綜合研究文學(xué)性的問題。其三，通過研究一些 漢譯作品，不難發(fā)現(xiàn)其中一些譯品存在著一些共同問題，首先是語言歐化表達不順，再就 是譯文淡而無味，一如清水，還有一些譯作晦澀難懂，不知所云。這些都是譯品缺乏文學(xué) 性的表現(xiàn)。這許是很多讀者不愿讀譯作的緣故之一吧。因此，庫克的話語變異理論對于 解決這些問題，提高譯作的文學(xué)性有一定的指導(dǎo)意義。 該理論對于翻譯的指導(dǎo)意義如下： 既然文學(xué)性通過話語變異體現(xiàn)，而話語變異又是通過文中的形式變異與讀者的心理圖 式互動作用實現(xiàn)，，那么，文學(xué)翻譯中譯者必須認(rèn)真研究原文文本種的形式變異，揣測其文 學(xué)效果，并致力于在譯文中運用相應(yīng)的形式變異達到相似的文學(xué)效果。 為實現(xiàn)上述目標(biāo)，筆者就文學(xué)翻譯者的素養(yǎng)要求、文學(xué)翻譯的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)、過程和形式變異 的翻譯方法進行了詳細(xì)的闡述。首先譯者要豐富自身的心理圖式結(jié)構(gòu)，無論是語言圖式結(jié) 構(gòu)（譯入語與源語知識）、文本圖式結(jié)構(gòu)（文本的互文狀況）還是世界圖式（如社會、文 化、歷史等知識）。唯有譯者自身的圖式結(jié)構(gòu)豐富，譯者才能更好的與原作者交流，體會 原作中形式變異的意圖。其次，譯者應(yīng)致力于識別原文文本中的形式變異（語言變異、文 本結(jié)構(gòu)變異），并揣測這些形式變異在源語語境中的效果，然后致力于在譯入語種尋求相 應(yīng)的形式變異，以求相似的文學(xué)效果。在此，翻譯的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)即“文學(xué)效果相似”。在翻譯形 式變異時，譯者可靈活使用四種方法：主要的兩種方法是直譯和替代法，補充方法是直譯 與意譯融合法、意譯加有效補償法。 卜自霎霎1 石石＋2／十二卜才 I毛寫至霎目／jJ－人二L＜廣 二二．乙poy w－”、，。�！癗＼［＼ S T E R SI ｝I SI‘ 筆者然后通過研究名篇《西風(fēng)頌》的兩個中譯本（譯者分別為王佐良和江楓）中的形 式變異傳譯情況，發(fā)現(xiàn)成功地傳譯原文中的形式變異可以提高譯文的文學(xué)性。研究同時也 表明，形式變異的有效傳譯也并不能一定能完全保證譯文質(zhì)量，也就是說不能解決文學(xué)翻 譯的全部問題。 最后本論文的得出以卜結(jié)論：庫克的文學(xué)話語理論應(yīng)用于文學(xué)翻譯雖不能解決文學(xué)翻 譯的全部問題，但可以解決文學(xué)翻譯中的一些問題，提高譯作的文學(xué)性。在該理論的指導(dǎo) －廠，能使譯者抓住文學(xué)翻譯的重點與難點，從而提高文學(xué)翻譯的質(zhì)量。
