【摘要】:刻畫鮮明的人物形象是小說的中心任務(wù)之一。人物語言在小說中是性格化了的語言,它對表現(xiàn)人物性格,塑造人物形象有非常重要的作用。因此,其翻譯質(zhì)量的高低直接影響譯文讀者對小說人物的解讀。本文就小說人物個性語言的翻譯作一探討性研究。這里的人物語言指人物的直接對話,即以直接引語形式出現(xiàn)的對話。理論基礎(chǔ)是以韓禮德為代表的功能語言學(xué)。經(jīng)過近半個世紀(jì)的發(fā)展,功能語言學(xué)已具有完整的思想系統(tǒng)和理論模式。它提出語言有三大元功能,即概念,人際,語篇功能。本文著眼于其中之一,人際功能。人際功能反映人與人之間的關(guān)系,能夠表達(dá)講話者的身份、地位、態(tài)度等的功能,還表示與情景有關(guān)的角色關(guān)系。(胡壯麟,1989)人們使用什么樣的語言隨著情景的變化而變化,韓禮德把決定語言使用的情景因素分為三類,即語場,語旨和語式。決定人際元功能的是語旨因素。人際功能的實現(xiàn)主要通過語氣、情態(tài)、語調(diào),還有評價等系統(tǒng)來實現(xiàn)。本文以語言的人際功能及實現(xiàn)為框架,對小說中人物對話的翻譯作一試探性的研究。翻譯的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是看譯文是否能夠忠實反映原文要反映的人際意義,具體標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是看譯文文本中的人物語言是否忠實反映人物的社會地位,人物性格,及特殊的時間場合等。任何語言都發(fā)生在一定的情景語境和文化語境中,反映兩種不同文化的語言在翻譯過程中難免導(dǎo)致人際意義的缺失,本文認(rèn)為對人物對話中的文化因素的處理在最大限度地保持其人際意義的同時, 不能引起讀者對文化的誤讀,根據(jù)具體語境采取相應(yīng)的翻譯策略。最后就這一研究做出結(jié)論,即利用功能語法中的人際元功能理論,通過語氣、情態(tài)、語調(diào)、評價等方面對小說人物語言的翻譯進(jìn)行指導(dǎo),能夠在很大程度上減少人際意義在語言轉(zhuǎn)換的缺失,因此人際元功能理論對人物語言的翻譯有很大的指導(dǎo)作用。
[Abstract]:Portraying vivid characters is one of the central tasks of the novel. Character language is the language of character in the novel, which plays a very important role in expressing character and shaping character image. Therefore, the quality of its translation directly affects the readers' interpretation of the characters of the novel. This paper makes an exploratory study on the translation of the personality language of the characters in the novel. The character language here refers to the direct dialogue of the character, that is, the dialogue in the form of direct quotation. The theoretical basis is functional linguistics represented by Halliday. After nearly half a century of development, functional linguistics has a complete ideological system and theoretical model. It suggests that language has three metafunctions, namely conceptual, interpersonal and textual functions. This paper focuses on one of them, interpersonal function. Interpersonal function reflects the relationship between people, can express the speaker's identity, status, attitude and other functions, but also indicates the role relationship related to the situation. (Hu Zhuanglin / 1989) what kind of language people use changes with the change of the situation. Halliday divides the situational factors that determine language use into three categories, namely, field, tenor and form. It is the tenor factor that determines the interpersonal meta function. Interpersonal function is realized by mood, modality, intonation and evaluation. Based on the interpersonal function and realization of language, this paper makes a tentative study on the translation of dialogue in the novel. The criterion of translation is whether the translation can faithfully reflect the interpersonal meaning to be reflected in the original text, and the specific criterion is whether the language of the characters in the translated text faithfully reflects the social status, character, and special time and occasion of the character, and so on. Any language occurs in a certain situational or cultural context, which inevitably leads to the loss of interpersonal meaning in the translation process of the two different cultures. This paper argues that the handling of cultural factors in character dialogue can not cause the readers to misread the culture while maintaining their interpersonal meaning to the maximum extent and adopt corresponding translation strategies according to the specific context. Finally, the conclusion of this study is to use the interpersonal meta-function theory in functional grammar to guide the translation of characters' language through mood, modality, intonation, evaluation and so on. It can reduce the loss of interpersonal meaning in language transformation to a great extent, so the interpersonal metafunctions theory has a great guiding effect on the translation of characters' language.
