【摘要】：本文聚焦于“憤怒的企鵝”之發(fā)生與發(fā)展,以此厘清現(xiàn)代主義如何在澳大利亞得以確立的脈絡(luò)。在強(qiáng)調(diào)“憤怒的企鵝”在澳大利亞現(xiàn)代主義形成過(guò)程中功不可沒(méi)的同時(shí),本文也描述了現(xiàn)代主義所遭受的種種阻力,以揭露現(xiàn)代主義如何努力在澳大利亞得以確立。 “憤怒的企鵝”是上世紀(jì)四十年代獨(dú)樹(shù)一幟的文學(xué)藝術(shù)先鋒運(yùn)動(dòng),起源于當(dāng)時(shí)的一本同名雜志。這場(chǎng)運(yùn)動(dòng)中涌現(xiàn)出了一大批激進(jìn)作家和藝術(shù)家,極大改變了戰(zhàn)時(shí)及戰(zhàn)后初期澳大利亞文學(xué)藝術(shù)的面貌,盡管他們?cè)谶\(yùn)動(dòng)的后期也遭受到了“厄恩·馬利”騙局這一沉重打擊。“憤怒的企鵝”不應(yīng)僅僅被看做某一個(gè)現(xiàn)代主義的實(shí)驗(yàn),而更應(yīng)被視為澳大利亞現(xiàn)代主義中具有領(lǐng)導(dǎo)地位的參與實(shí)踐者,并為之后的澳大利亞藝術(shù)帶去了新氣象。
