從后殖民主義視角看《庫那圖》和《煙云繚繞的街道》中的土著人物形象

凱瑟琳.蘇珊娜.普里查德(1883-1969)和蒂姆.溫頓(1960-)都生活在西澳大利亞。他們的作品也大都以西澳為背景。普里查德的《庫那圖》(1929)被認(rèn)為在描寫白人和土著民的關(guān)系,尤其是在處理當(dāng)時令人忌諱的白人和土著民的性關(guān)系方面是個突破。而蒂姆.溫頓的《煙云繚繞的街道》(1991)也正在成為一部現(xiàn)代經(jīng)典。在這兩部作品當(dāng)中,兩位作家都對土著人表現(xiàn)出了同情和欣賞,并且表達(dá)了白人和土著民和平共處的愿望。必須承認(rèn),他們在各自的時代對土著民的態(tài)度是積極和進(jìn)步的。 該論文試圖向中國讀者介紹兩位西澳作家以及他們的這兩部作品。不僅如此,作者以后殖民主義為視角,力圖從種族歧視,土地和家園喪失和性的利用等方面揭示《庫那圖》中殖民統(tǒng)治下土著民飽受剝削利用的生存狀態(tài)以及它對《煙云繚繞的街道》中描寫的二次大戰(zhàn)后直至60年代土著民的深遠(yuǎn)影響。該論文還試圖揭示,盡管這兩位作家在各自時代是進(jìn)步的,他們的作品仍然保留了部分白人社會對土著民普遍的種族和形象歧視的色彩。
