論《白噪音》中大眾傳媒的毀滅性力量

唐·德里羅(1936-)已經(jīng)成為了美國現(xiàn)代最重要的作家之一。他的第八部小說《白噪音》獲得了1985年的國家圖書獎(jiǎng),并被稱為他的“突破”之作,此書出版不久就獲得了巨大的商業(yè)成功!栋自胍簟芬鹆嗽u論界的廣泛關(guān)注,紛紛對其所關(guān)注的當(dāng)代美國社會(huì)的主題進(jìn)行討論,如消費(fèi)主義,對死亡的恐懼,家庭,環(huán)境,等等。本論文是對《白噪音》的主題的研究,尤其是對大眾傳媒及其對人類的毀滅性的力量的研究。 “媒體,指的是組織、分發(fā)事實(shí)、看法、娛樂以及其他信息的各種手段,如報(bào)紙、雜志、電影、廣播、電視、互聯(lián)網(wǎng)、廣告牌、書籍、光盤、錄像帶、電腦游戲以及其它的形式的出版物。而大眾傳媒則指的是以觸及大量的觀眾為目的的一類傳媒方式。它所觸及的觀眾范圍至少到達(dá)全國!痹凇栋自胍簟分,德里羅向我們展示了大眾傳媒在人們的日常生活中極度受歡迎的驚人畫面。大眾傳媒充斥著整個(gè)社會(huì)?蛷d里的電視機(jī),門口的報(bào)紙,及車上的廣播無時(shí)無刻地在向人們傳達(dá)著各種各樣的信息。人們每天都花大量的時(shí)間看電視。電視總是開著,無論人們是在吃飯、聊天、閱讀、甚至是在睡覺的時(shí)候。因此,大眾傳媒對人們的心理、行為及價(jià)值觀都有很大的影響。杰克和芭比特的來自他們之前的...
