小說《我的安東尼亞》1918年出版后飲譽(yù)世界。威拉·凱瑟作為美國最杰出的女性作家之一,吸引了越來越多的文學(xué)批評(píng)家走進(jìn)她的創(chuàng)作世界并廣泛發(fā)表評(píng)論。雖然他們對(duì)凱瑟的文學(xué)特點(diǎn)進(jìn)行了深入的探討,但對(duì)她小說世界里隱藏著的神話原型卻沒有給予系統(tǒng)的研究。 基于此,本學(xué)位論文試圖從神話原型批評(píng)的視角來分析威拉·凱瑟的《啊,拓荒者》和《我的安東尼亞》里的女性形象。第一章,作者首先對(duì)有關(guān)威拉·凱瑟的文學(xué)作品批評(píng)研究成果進(jìn)行綜述,然后回顧了她的文學(xué)生涯和當(dāng)時(shí)的社會(huì)背景。第二章簡要概述神話原型批評(píng)理論。第三章和第四章,作者從神話原型理論的角度評(píng)析了《啊,拓荒者》和《我的安東尼亞》里的女性形象。第五章,結(jié)論部分認(rèn)為亞歷山德拉和安東尼亞的形象分別是“大母親”和“大地母親”的神話原型再現(xiàn)。威拉·凱瑟在這兩部作品里所展示的創(chuàng)作才華,向讀者呈現(xiàn)了其無意識(shí)心理中的人類記憶里的女神原型。
