雙角色人物模式的原型移位與二十世紀美國文學(xué)

近幾年原型批評在國內(nèi)進行得轟轟烈烈,除了介紹原型批評理論的文章經(jīng)常見于各種期刊雜志之外,利用原型理論進行實踐批評的文章也為數(shù)不少。但目前原型批評實踐有一種傾向,即局限于單部作品里的人物、意象、敘事的原型分析。雖然這對于理解作品非常有幫助,但這種局部的、小范圍的批評并不能發(fā)揮原型批評的優(yōu)勢。原型批評的最大特點是整體性批評。其集大成者諾斯洛普·弗萊就一再強調(diào)批評者要“向后站”,從整體上把握作品,并將作品放在一個更大的文學(xué)范圍內(nèi),從共時性和歷時性的角度考察作品與這一范圍內(nèi)的其他作品的關(guān)系,并對作品本身做出評價。 本篇文章旨在發(fā)揮原型批評的整體性優(yōu)勢,試圖再往后站一點,不僅尋找二十世紀美國文學(xué)中幾部作品的共同原型,還將它們對原型的移位方式與整個二十世紀的文學(xué)走向聯(lián)系起來,思考它們運用和移位原型對于二十世紀文學(xué)主體的意義。 在二十世紀的多部美國文學(xué)作品中,如馬拉莫德的《伙計》(1957)、斯坦貝克的《憤怒的葡萄》(1939)以及托尼·莫里森的《所羅門之歌》(1977),有一個非常類似的有兩個人物構(gòu)成的人物模式,其中一個人物(弗蘭克、湯姆、奶娃)在另一個人物(莫里斯、凱綏,彼拉多)死亡...
