《唐納利一家》之藝術(shù)特色及悲劇因素分析

加拿大戲劇在初始階段受到聲名狼藉的歐洲殖民主義的限制,后期又在強(qiáng)大的美國文學(xué)的籠罩之下而相形見絀,直到二戰(zhàn)之后加拿大戲劇才取得了輝煌的成就。然而,加拿大戲劇所取得的成就在中國至今未得到文學(xué)評論家和讀者足夠的重視。本文選擇詹姆斯·里恩尼的《唐納利一家》進(jìn)行研究,一是為了填補(bǔ)國內(nèi)在里恩尼的戲劇研究上的空白,二是因?yàn)樵搫∈羌幽么髴騽∈飞系囊徊恐匾髌?被一些戲劇評論家稱為“加拿大戲劇的一座里程碑”。本文的分析重點(diǎn)是文本和悲劇因素。文本分析是對戲劇主題和藝術(shù)特色的分析,悲劇因素分析則是對歷史和個人兩方面的分析。其中對《唐納利一家》的悲劇因素分析即使是在加拿大都屬首次。《唐納利一家》是以對愛爾蘭移民唐納利家的五口人在當(dāng)?shù)亻L期爭斗中被殘殺這一事件長達(dá)八年的調(diào)查為基礎(chǔ)的。唐納利一家拒絕屈膝臣服,拒絕離開比道夫小鎮(zhèn)的家。盡管他們面臨很多難題,但是他們從不放棄。希望和愛是作品的主題。在這部三部曲的多種藝術(shù)特色當(dāng)中,紀(jì)實(shí)劇和舞臺隱喻是最重要也是最耀眼的兩個,對此本文著重進(jìn)行了分析。里恩尼在戲劇創(chuàng)作中結(jié)合了多種創(chuàng)作技巧,形成了他自己獨(dú)特的戲劇風(fēng)格—“里恩尼戲劇”。歷史因素?cái)M從土地,社會和宗教三個角度來分析。...
