威廉·�？思{是20世紀最著名的作家之一。幾十年來，他的作品被中外學者廣泛地研究，其中從意識流、現(xiàn)代主義、女性主義、南方傳奇的角度研究居多。本文從一個全新的視角，運用創(chuàng)傷理論，探究�？思{戰(zhàn)爭小說的創(chuàng)傷主題。本文首先梳理了創(chuàng)傷理論的發(fā)展，以戰(zhàn)爭創(chuàng)傷為切入點，選取了�？思{的5部長篇小說《士兵的報酬》、《沙多里斯》、《押沙龍，押沙龍！》、《八月之光》和《寓言》，分章節(jié)論述福克納小說人物在繼承或承受的戰(zhàn)爭創(chuàng)傷后的典型特征。除了緒論和結(jié)論以外，本文主體部分一共有三章。第一章題為“戰(zhàn)爭創(chuàng)傷的表現(xiàn)：《士兵的報酬》和《沙多里斯》”，探討了馬洪、沙多里斯等一戰(zhàn)退伍老兵，作為戰(zhàn)斗英雄回到家鄉(xiāng)后，面臨家鄉(xiāng)人的虛榮和冷漠，采取了或是沉默或是與老百姓格格不入的生活方式，論證了戰(zhàn)爭給退伍老兵帶來的身體和心理的雙重創(chuàng)傷。他們的這種反應被稱之為創(chuàng)傷后應激障礙，在這兩部小說中，退伍老兵們都表現(xiàn)出創(chuàng)傷后應激障礙中的失語或者無語的狀態(tài)。失語可能主要是戰(zhàn)爭帶來的身體創(chuàng)傷導致他們失去了語言能力，可是無語卻是他們主觀選擇的應對戰(zhàn)爭創(chuàng)傷的行為。第二章題為“戰(zhàn)爭創(chuàng)傷的繼承：《押沙龍，押沙龍！》和《八月之光》”，重點研究小說中遭受到美國...
