【摘要】：中篇小說《再見,哥倫布》是美國猶太作家杰出代表之一、當(dāng)代美國文壇泰斗菲利普.羅斯初登文壇的首次創(chuàng)作。盡管是初次嘗試創(chuàng)作,《再見,哥倫布》卻顯示出作者不俗的寫作才華、深刻的生活洞察力以及成熟的寫作風(fēng)格。小說以愛情故事為線索揭示了美國猶太青年對傳統(tǒng)是繼承還是反叛的矛盾心理及擺脫束縛、尋求自我的強(qiáng)烈愿望。在這部小說中,作者刻意設(shè)計(jì)了故事發(fā)生的兩個(gè)主要場景———肖特山富人區(qū)和紐瓦克猶太人聚居區(qū)。微觀上大量細(xì)膩的場景細(xì)節(jié)描寫與宏觀上主要場景時(shí)空上的交錯(cuò)轉(zhuǎn)換相結(jié)合的場景機(jī)制,既為讀者編織出了一幅美國猶太人的生活畫卷,又呈現(xiàn)出美國猶太中產(chǎn)階級郊區(qū)生活與普通猶太移民后裔城市生活的鮮明對立。同時(shí),整個(gè)故事由主人公尼爾講述,打破了全知的敘事視角,故事空間因此成為人物內(nèi)心的外化,場景描寫成為了刻畫人物心理和揭示主題的重要手段,極具敘事功能性和主題揭示性。
[Abstract]:The novel goodbye, Columbus is one of the outstanding representatives of American Jewish writers, and Philip is one of the leading writers in contemporary American literature. Ross first made his debut in the literary world. Although it is the first attempt to create, goodbye Columbus shows the author's outstanding writing talent, profound life insight and mature writing style. Based on the love story, the novel reveals the contradictory psychology of American Jewish youth on whether to inherit or rebel from tradition and their strong desire to get rid of the shackles and seek themselves. In this novel, the author deliberately designs two main scenes of the story-the Short Mountain Rich District and the Newark Jewish settlement. The scene mechanism, which combines a large number of exquisite scene details with the interlaced transformation in time and space of the main scenes on the macro level, has not only woven a picture of the life of American Jews for the readers. It also shows the sharp opposition between the suburban life of the Jewish middle class in the United States and the urban life of ordinary Jewish immigrants. At the same time, the whole story is told by the protagonist Neil, breaking the omniscience narrative perspective, the story space has become the inner externalization of the characters, and the scene description has become an important means to depict the psychology of the characters and reveal the theme. It has great narrative function and theme disclosure.
