【摘要】：隨著經(jīng)濟(jì)的快速發(fā)展,人們深切關(guān)注后殖民國家的文化發(fā)展,并逐漸意識到文化間交流的重要性。關(guān)于后殖民社會的文學(xué)作品在世界上占據(jù)著不可或缺的地位。作為后殖民文學(xué)的領(lǐng)軍人物之一,V.S.奈保爾在其小說和游記中極大地關(guān)注不發(fā)達(dá)的第三世界國家,特別是其故鄉(xiāng)印度和出生地特立尼達(dá)以及長期處于貧困之中的非洲。奈保爾的文學(xué)作品主要探索民族文化的危機(jī)和個人身份認(rèn)同的諸多問題。作為他的早期杰出作品之一,《畢司沃斯先生的房子》描述了印度移民在特立尼達(dá)逐漸失去了自己的文化之根和身份的過程。該小說主要揭示移民艱難地追求獨(dú)立,自6由和身份的歷程。流散身份認(rèn)同主要是指位置和身份之間的關(guān)系。本論文運(yùn)用流散身份認(rèn)同這一概念來闡釋小說中三代印度移民不同的命運(yùn)。隨著生存環(huán)境的改變,老一代移民妄圖生活在自我封閉的社會中,第二代試著學(xué)習(xí)如何與當(dāng)?shù)厝讼嗵幒腿绾芜m應(yīng)新的生活方式,而第三代則選擇出國留學(xué)去尋找實(shí)現(xiàn)夢想的途徑,并逐漸習(xí)慣于西方的生存方式和思維模式。本論文旨在說明移民身份危機(jī)現(xiàn)象是普遍存在的,而同時也揭露了雖然在西方文化和經(jīng)濟(jì)的影響下,尋找身份的過程極其艱辛與痛苦,但印度移民們正在逐漸適應(yīng)以宗主國文化為主的社會,并形成了自身特有的、復(fù)雜的和混雜的身份。
[Abstract]:With the rapid development of economy, people pay close attention to the cultural development of postcolonial countries and gradually realize the importance of intercultural communication. Literature on post-colonial society occupies an indispensable position in the world. As one of the leading figures in postcolonial literature, V. S. In his novels and travels, Naipaul pays great attention to underdeveloped third world countries, especially his native India and his birthplace, Trinidad, and Africa, which has long been in poverty. Naipaul's literary works mainly explore the crisis of national culture and many problems of personal identity. As one of his early masterpieces, the House of Mr. Bisworth describes the process of Indian immigrants losing their cultural roots and identities in Trinidad. The novel mainly reveals the struggle of immigrants in their pursuit of independence, from the 6 th and the process of identity. Diaspora identity mainly refers to the relationship between position and identity. This thesis uses the concept of diaspora identity to explain the different fate of the three generations of Indian immigrants in the novel. As the living environment changed, the older generation tried to live in a self-enclosed society, and the second generation tried to learn how to get along with the locals and adapt to the new way of life. The third generation chose to study abroad to find a way to realize their dreams and became accustomed to the way of living and thinking in the West. The purpose of this paper is to show that the phenomenon of immigration status crisis is widespread, and it also reveals that the process of seeking identity is extremely difficult and painful under the influence of western culture and economy. But Indian immigrants are adapting to the dominant culture of the Suzerain and forming their own unique, complex and mixed identities.
