【摘要】：毋庸置疑，譚恩美是當(dāng)今美國文壇一位十分引人注目的華裔作家。隨著她四本暢銷小說的問世，即《喜福會(huì)》（1989）、《灶神之妻》(1991)《百種神秘感覺》（1995）、《接骨師之女》（2001），譚恩美一躍成為備受矚目的文壇之星，她不僅獲得了西方評(píng)論界的高度贊揚(yáng)，還深受廣大讀者的喜愛。其中《喜福會(huì)》最受人關(guān)注，該書一經(jīng)出版立刻贏得了廣泛一致的好評(píng)，曾經(jīng)占據(jù)《紐約時(shí)報(bào)》暢銷書位置長達(dá)九個(gè)月之久，并獲得了包括“全美圖書獎(jiǎng)”和“海灣地區(qū)小說評(píng)論獎(jiǎng)”在內(nèi)的多個(gè)獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)。 《喜福會(huì)》的成功贏得了眾多主流話語的讀者,也為美國文學(xué)史增添了新的一頁。在看到其所取得獲得成績的同時(shí)，我們應(yīng)該還需注意到，華裔作家由于其特殊的文化、民族身份和所處的政治、社會(huì)環(huán)境,對(duì)中國文化、華人形象又有疏離、歪曲甚至丑化等現(xiàn)象。他們身處第一世界的文化圈內(nèi),卻又具有第三世界的血統(tǒng)。為了擺脫他們?cè)谖鞣降氖дZ與無根狀態(tài),他們依靠自己獨(dú)特的雙重民族、文化身份,利用從父輩那兒繼承來的文化遺產(chǎn),以白人的眼光來審視東方,甚至“東方化”中國、中國文化和華人移民。書寫中國文化與美國華人生活習(xí)俗為內(nèi)容的《喜福會(huì)》，也始終與賽義德所提出的“東方主義”有著千絲萬縷的聯(lián)系。譚恩美站在美國主流文化的位置上，從東方主義的視角出發(fā)，用“他者”的眼光來看待中國人及中國文化。透過《喜福會(huì)》，可以窺見深受西方思想影響的譚恩美所刻畫的中國“他者”形象，同時(shí)也給華人戴上了“異類”的華冠。 本論文首先分析了中國男性在美國主流社會(huì)中的“他者”地位。在《喜福會(huì)》中，譚恩美塑造了幾位中國男性形象:冷淡無能荒淫，這顯然與中國傳統(tǒng)文學(xué)作品中的英勇果斷頂天立地的男子漢形象背道而馳，而這些既定的華人男性形象恰好契合了西方文學(xué)中有關(guān)華人男性邪惡、兇殘、道德品質(zhì)低下的描述。事實(shí)上，這種定型化的形象不過是西方社會(huì)關(guān)于東方的異族想象在作家身上的具體體現(xiàn)。因此，，作為美國種族社會(huì)的犧牲品，華人男性被迫淪為被“閹割”的他者。而另一形象—中國母親首先被刻畫成代表弱勢(shì)文化的“他者”地位，由于深受男權(quán)和種族的雙重壓迫，中國母親自然而然無法擺脫“他者”的陰影，淪為“沉默”，“順從”，“異域”的他者。接著分析中國母親在美國女兒面前的“他者”形象，由于中國母親嚴(yán)格要求兒女的按自己的意愿行事，這使追求個(gè)性化和自由的美國女兒們不能理解；母親們說話含糊，不夠直接，這也令美國女兒們頗感費(fèi)解。最后從中國飲食文化和傳統(tǒng)信仰這一方面分析“他者”這一主題。書中描述道中國人無所不吃，而且吃法極為殘忍；中國人還信奉迷信，從而得出結(jié)論：中國人是愚昧的“他者” 深受西方思想影響譚恩美女士具有東方主義傾向，在其作品中對(duì)中國男性、中國母親和中國傳統(tǒng)文化“他者”形象的建構(gòu),必然導(dǎo)致具有不同文化背景的主流話語讀者對(duì)東方文化、中國人、海外華人的敵視態(tài)度。
[Abstract]:There is no doubt that Tan Nami is one of the most prominent Chinese American writers in the American literary world . As her four bestselling novels come into being , that is , the wife of the cooking stove ( 1991 ) has become the star of the great literary world . She has won the most attention of the Western critics , and has won the most popular praise from the readers . The book once occupied the best seller of the New York Times for nine months , and has won several awards including the National Book Award and the Gulf Region Fiction Review Awards .
In order to get rid of their special culture , national identity and political and social environment , we should also pay attention to Chinese culture , Chinese culture and Chinese immigrants .
This paper first analyzes the status of Chinese men in the mainstream society of the United States . In the future of the American racial society , Tan Nmei has shaped several Chinese male images : indifference , incompetence , and low moral quality . In fact , the image of the Chinese male has been portrayed as a victim of the Chinese male ' s evil , ferocity and moral character in the western literature .
The mothers speak vague , not directly , which also makes American daughters feel free . In the end , the theme of " other people " is analyzed from the Chinese diet culture and traditional beliefs . The Chinese people described in the book have nothing to eat , and they are extremely cruel ;
The Chinese also believe in superstition , thus concluding that the Chinese are foolish " others "
It is deeply influenced by the Western thought that Ms . Tan Nami has the tendency of oriental . In his works , the construction of Chinese male , Chinese mother and Chinese traditional culture " other " image inevitably leads to the hostile attitude of the mainstream discourse readers with different cultural backgrounds to oriental culture , Chinese and overseas Chinese .
