《紅字》中的權(quán)力話語體系

【摘要】:納撒尼爾·霍桑的代表作《紅字》一貫被譽(yù)為美國(guó)文學(xué)的經(jīng)典作品之一。基于其罪與贖罪的顯著特征,《紅字》的國(guó)內(nèi)外主要傳統(tǒng)研究或多或少都無不帶著宗教的色彩。著眼于脫掉宗教的神秘外衣,本文致力于追尋隱藏在宗教背后的身影。 本文的分析建立在米歇爾·?隆兑(guī)訓(xùn)與懲罰》的基礎(chǔ)上,以懲罰和規(guī)訓(xùn)為主線,應(yīng)用福柯的權(quán)力—話語理論,從法律話語、道德話語、宗教話語三個(gè)角度嘗試探討《紅字》中的權(quán)力關(guān)系。本文采用自問自答式的研究策略,逐步深入,環(huán)環(huán)相扣,最終得出如下結(jié)論:權(quán)力掌握著至高無上的決定權(quán),法律、道德、宗教等話語體系構(gòu)筑并體現(xiàn)著權(quán)力的運(yùn)作,權(quán)力采用了懲罰和規(guī)訓(xùn)手段作用于海絲特和丁梅斯代爾,而海絲特和丁梅斯代爾的自我規(guī)訓(xùn)和教化又反過來加強(qiáng)了權(quán)力的運(yùn)作。
[Abstract]:Nathaniel Hawthorne's masterpiece the Scarlet letter has always been regarded as one of the classics of American literature.Based on the remarkable characteristics of sin and atonement, the main traditional researches in the Scarlet letter are more or less religious.With a view to taking off the mysterious cloak of religion, this paper is devoted to pursuing the figure hidden behind religion.Based on Michelle Foucault's "discipline and punishment", this paper applies Foucault's theory of power-discourse to legal discourse and moral discourse, taking punishment and discipline as the main line.This paper attempts to explore the power relationship in the Scarlet letter from three angles of religious discourse.This paper adopts the research strategy of self-questioning and self-answer, gradually deepening, interlocking, and finally comes to the following conclusion: power holds the supreme power of decision, the discourse system of law, morality, religion and so on constructs and embodies the operation of power.Power acts on Hester and Dimmesdale by means of punishment and discipline, and the self-discipline and enlightenment of Hester and Dimmesdale in turn strengthen the operation of power.
