【摘要】:奧斯卡·西于羅斯(Oscar Hijuelos,1951-2013)是當代美國古巴裔的重要代表作家。他的《曼波王彈奏情歌》發(fā)表于1989年,,成為第一部獲得普利策小說獎的西語裔文學作品。該小說不僅再現(xiàn)了二十世紀四五十年代美國紐約的曼波音樂熱潮,同時也揭示了古巴散居者的生存困境以及他們所面臨的文化身份認同問題。 本文從流散視角出發(fā),借鑒斯圖亞特·霍爾關于散居者的文化身份的理論,通過分析《曼波王彈奏情歌》中以卡斯特羅兄弟及阿納茲為代表的三種不同類型的文化身份認同模式,說明在跨文化語境下雜糅文化身份模式對散居者的重要意義,對美國少數(shù)族裔散居者的文化身份問題有一定的參考價值。 本文探討小說中古巴散居者賽薩爾,內斯特及阿納茲各自不同的文化身份模式,即美國化的文化身份,古巴文化身份和雜糅的文化身份。第一部分分析塞薩爾通過對英語的掌握和接受以消費主義和個人主義為代表的美國文化價值觀來建構美國化的文化身份,說明塞薩爾全盤美國化的文化身份是使他逐漸被美國意識同化,忘卻自己原有的文化之根,并最終導致其身份認同危機的根本原因。第二部分分析內斯特在種族歧視和文化沖突的情境下,選擇認同原有的文化傳統(tǒng),在古巴音樂,古巴食物和古巴回憶中培育自己被割斷的文化之根,說明內斯特的古巴文化身份是他無法融入美國社會并逐漸被邊緣化的深層原因。第三部分分析阿納茲流動的角色和其文化身份中兩種文化的共存以及他對兩種文化之間差異和沖突的協(xié)調,說明阿納茲雜糅的文化身份使他在融入美國社會的同時保持其原有的文化特性。在小說最后,內斯特之子歐金尼奧通過反思其父輩的三種不同文化身份,內化了雜糅文化身份的內涵,找到了適合在美國生活的文化身份模式。小說結尾中,哥哥賽薩爾的心跟隨弟弟內斯特的心一齊飛向遠方,象征著兩種文化的最終融合,從而升華了主題,寓示著雜糅文化身份的生成。 本文基于對《曼波王彈奏情歌》中古巴散居者的文化身份模式的探討,認為西于羅斯提倡的是一種流動的,雜糅的文化身份觀。雜糅的文化身份對古巴散居者融入美國文化的同時保持原有的古巴文化具有重要的意義?ㄋ固亓_兄弟面臨的文化身份問題具有典型性,這也為古巴裔和其他少數(shù)族裔流散族群在全球化背景下的文化身份建構提供一定啟示。
[Abstract]:Oscar Siuros (Oscar Hijuelos 1951-2013) is an important representative writer of American contemporary Cuban. His "Mambo King playing songs > published in 1989, became the first Pulitzer prize for fiction of the Hispanic Literature. The novel not only represent the United States in 40s and 50s twentieth Century in New York the Mambo craze, but also reveals the plight of the Cuban diaspora the culture and identity issues they face.
This article from the diaspora perspective, referring to Stuart Hall about diaspora cultural identity theory, through the analysis of "Mambo King played three different types of cultural identity to the Castro brothers and Arnaz as the representative of the song", shows the importance of a hybridized cultural identity model in cross cultural context of the Diaspora and cultural identity scattered on American minority who have a certain reference value.
This paper discusses the novel in the Cuban diaspora cultural identity Caesar, Nestor and Arnaz different modes, namely American cultural identity, cultural identity and the hybrid cultural identity. The first part is the analysis of Cesar's concept of constructing American cultural identity through mastery of English and to accept consumerism and individualism as the representative of American culture the value of the overall United States that Cesar's cultural identity is so that he gradually assimilated American consciousness, forget their original cultural roots, and ultimately cause the identity crisis. The second part is the analysis of Nestor in racial discrimination and cultural conflict situation, choose to accept the original cultural tradition, in the music of Cuba, Cuba Cuba food and memories to cultivate their own severed cultural roots, Nestor's Cuban cultural identity is he unable to integrate into the United States Agency Will gradually be marginalized and deep reasons. The third part analyzes the coexistence of two kinds of culture and the cultural identity of the characters and Arnaz flow he coordinated between the two kinds of cultural differences and conflicts, that Arnaz hybrid cultural identity enabled him to maintain its original cultural characteristics at the same time into American society at the end of the novel. Nestor, the son of Eugenio through three different cultural identity of their parents, internalize the connotation of hybridized cultural identity, find the suitable cultural identity mode of life in the United States. At the end of the novel, his brother Caesar's heart to follow brother Nestor's heart with flying far away, symbolizing the final integration of the two cultures, and sublimation theme generation implies a hybridized cultural identity.
This paper discusses the cultural identity of "Mambo king song playing mode > in Cuban diaspora based on Ross think the West advocate is a flow of the mixed cultural identity has important significance. Hybrid cultural identity of the Cuban diaspora into American culture while maintaining the original Cuban culture cultural identity. The Castro brothers are typical, it also provide some enlightenment for the Cuban diaspora and other minorities in the context of globalization and cultural identity.
