[Abstract]:Glass is also commonly known as the "three colors". As an important kind in the history of ancient Chinese ceramic technology, it is a typical example of ceramic art widely used in the field of architecture after Qin brick and Han WA. In this paper, glass as a building material as a research topic is based on the following reasons: first of all, it is attached to ancient buildings, especially palace buildings, and has the cultural nature of feudal emperors and royal architecture etiquette. Under the influence of feudal system for thousands of years, glass has had a certain and deep-rooted influence in people's thought and social cognition. It shows that glass has become a symbol of culture and a kind of cultural symbol, which is deeply rooted in people's psychology. Secondly, because of its own anticorrosion and durability of oxidation resistance, glass building materials can become a new type of building materials superior to pottery tiles, which can be used on the roof of buildings. Its good waterproof and roof drainage advantages ensure the stability of the building roof and ensure the safety of the building. Finally, it is its own beauty, unique decoration. The grandeur and dignity of glass color enable it to be used as the only decorative material for the roof of royal architecture. Can play the effect of setting off and decorating the building. Give people the enjoyment of visual beauty. It is precisely because of its multiple characteristics of culture, durability and decoration that people think about how glass is used in modern architecture. How to better use glass in modern and contemporary architectural decoration, how to better serve the original intention of architectural design and the design intention to be conveyed by designers, so that glass materials become the finishing touch. It has become a problem that we deserve to think about and study. Through the method of literature review, investigation and analysis, case study, this paper makes a comprehensive analysis and research on the practical and aesthetic nature of glass and the cultural nature entrusted to it by history. In the in-depth analysis and study, it is found that the cultural symbol nature of glass brought by feudal hierarchy has a very profound impact on people's hearts, which limits the use of glass in modern and contemporary architectural environment in some aspects. In modern and contemporary architecture, it is mainly used in the restoration of ancient buildings, antique buildings, and some large national buildings with special use functions and functional positioning. However, the nature of glass itself will not completely hinder the creativity of glass itself, it can still bring people the enjoyment of decorative beauty and visual beauty, even if there are restrictions, it can still expand its broader prospects.
