【摘要】：圖片作為符號(hào)資源的一種,已成為人們生活中必不可少的組成部分。如何理解圖片背后的意義,如何培養(yǎng)媒介閱讀能力顯得尤為重要。然而,無(wú)論是國(guó)內(nèi)還是國(guó)外,對(duì)于圖片的實(shí)證研究主要集中在廣告,漫畫(huà),建筑等方面,而對(duì)于新聞紀(jì)實(shí)性照片的研究十分有限。基于韓禮德(1994)的系統(tǒng)功能語(yǔ)言學(xué)理論,視覺(jué)語(yǔ)法(Visual Grammar,簡(jiǎn)稱VG)在解讀圖片的意義潛勢(shì)方面提供了較為系統(tǒng)的理論框架,為多模態(tài)話語(yǔ)分析的發(fā)展做出了很大的貢獻(xiàn)。然而,視覺(jué)語(yǔ)法(VG)缺乏嚴(yán)格意義上的語(yǔ)法依據(jù),帶有很強(qiáng)的主觀性。與此同時(shí),意義的建構(gòu)離不開(kāi)人類對(duì)概念的認(rèn)知系統(tǒng),思考和行為的表現(xiàn)方式既可以是語(yǔ)言形式也可以是圖像形式,因此將圖片隱喻理論(pictorial metaphor theory,簡(jiǎn)稱PMT)引入視覺(jué)語(yǔ)法體系能更好地提供人們對(duì)圖片中概念認(rèn)知的理論解釋,彌補(bǔ)視覺(jué)語(yǔ)法缺乏理?yè)?jù)這一缺陷。本研究結(jié)合Kress和van Leeuwen(1996)的視覺(jué)語(yǔ)法(VG)和Forceville(1996)的圖片隱喻理論(PMT),運(yùn)用系統(tǒng)功能多模態(tài)分析方法(SF-MDA),從動(dòng)作、攝影方式、空間定位三方面對(duì)美國(guó)《紐約時(shí)報(bào)》新聞話語(yǔ)中的紀(jì)實(shí)性圖片進(jìn)行分析,期望探究圖片隱喻意義的構(gòu)建過(guò)程。本研究具體回答以下三個(gè)問(wèn)題：1、新聞紀(jì)實(shí)類照片的視覺(jué)表征主要以何種方式呈現(xiàn)?2、這些方式是如何實(shí)現(xiàn)圖片意義構(gòu)建的?3、為什么呈現(xiàn)方式相同或不同?是否受文本語(yǔ)類的影響?研究發(fā)現(xiàn)：新聞紀(jì)實(shí)類照片的圖片隱喻表征方式比廣告,卡通,繪畫(huà)等更為隱秘,主要通過(guò)(1)結(jié)合替代和(2)分離并置兩種方式來(lái)實(shí)現(xiàn)意義建構(gòu)；同時(shí),圖片中的意義潛勢(shì)隨著語(yǔ)類的不同也會(huì)有不同的呈現(xiàn)方式。
