WeChat is a chat software for mobile phones which enables users to communicate with each other through voice messages, videos, pictures and texts for free. WeChat is becoming increasingly popular among Chinese people and part of people’s everyday life.

WeChat’s popularity in a short time lies in many aspects. In the first place, WeChat can be installed in multiple cellphone systems and it provides comprehensive and constantly updated functions and services to users. In the second place, The app’s social function provides a wide platform for users to communicate with friends and relatives. Most importantly, the app is free of charge, which can help users save money cost on making voice phone calls.

But we should be warned about a negative development: a huge number of people are spending too much time on the app every day. People glued to their phone screens - either texting or sending voice mails or using any of its other functions.

All in all, WeChat combines messaging with social networking tools and has became a trend for its convenience and low cost. While enjoying the benefits of social networks, we should be wary of their negative effects and avoid using social networks in ways that may harm our normal life and work.

As is vividly described in the picture，the cat has become a victim of identity theft. The human beings are stepping into the information society. The information industry develops very rapidly, so do the hackers, trick-playing teens, exploring children, fraudsters, and serious white-collar criminals. Thus, information security becomes an impending important issue.

In case of information breach, the victims—government department, an organization or an institution, or a company will inevitably suffer great or small loss. Government may be threatened with national security. Companies may lose opportunities to develop new projects. And the public’s and users’ confidence will be damaged.

Then how to deal with this issue? Technology is only a partial solution to information security. What’s more important is that organizations and companies should promote the awareness on information security to its staff. However, since no system can ever be 100 percent secure, a prevention-only approach to information

security management is not enough. Companies and organizations should adopt a dual approach to information security management by combing prevention and detection techniques.
